>>> Stop defending him pal, that is what he wanted to keep the size for the future as well. This is why Apple took 3-4 years to catch up to Android screen sizes, and they only did after heavy backlash & demand from their userbase.
" And let's be honest plenty of people would STILL use 4 inch smartphones if they were still a thing. Just maybe with more than 720p resolution"
>>> People love to claim this... But the reality is that the iPhone Mini was a colossal failure. None of the small form factor phones have survived.
"As for the car,... look at what we have now, the exact thing be wanted is becoming reality right now. He was just thinking way ahead"
>>> There are self driving cars, but those still have a steering wheel. His vision neither materialized, nor was anyone
st-oo-pid enough to pursue it. Apple royally failed at the car. His own engineers were pulling their hair out over his interference in the project.
Some of us see through the marketing and don't fall for hero worship. You on the other hand have been caught defending his failures.

>>> You sure you ain't defending him?
Remember Antennagate? Remember him gaslighting users into thinking they are the ones holding it wrong?
That design flaw was already known to him in June.
They decided to go with it anyway.
They knew... having to pay a fine worth a few million dollars in the future was nothing compared to the billions they'll make launching it on time.

It's mostly been Apple taking inspiration from others. Unfortunately they never take inspiration about how to improve their own stuff. Like their awfully inconsistent touch gestures.

i0S.- Never.- Again., 29 Oct 2026I feel sorry for the people who write comments such as thes... moreSo what do you expect with his sudden passing? For him to raise from the grave and update his roadmap to match the current tech?
I'm not defending Apple or glorifying Jobs, but he was million times better than his successors. Hardware defects on Apple products were very very rarely happened because Jobs personally use the production-ready prototype products for months before released. While software defetcs can easily fixed with ota updates.
Remember iPhone 6, the first iPhone to have major body re-design after Jobs gone, and bendgate happened.
For the screen, why don't we think it this way: maybe Jobs personally liked a phone with small screen, so 4" it is. And for 4", 720 is enough and iPhones already use retina display back then. He didn't live long enough to see the demand of phones with large screens.
Even at 2026, most phones still at 1080p because even at 7", more than that is an overkill, especially with various advancements on the quality of lcd/oled screens as of late

i0S.- Never.- Again., 29 Oct 2026I feel sorry for the people who write comments such as thes... moreIt's almost like tech evolved and at that time, 720p at 4" was normal. Besides, his stance on touchscreens in laptops still hasn't been disproven; From what was shown off so far, this iteration is far from great, let alone polished. Touchscreens in laptops outside of convertible laptops just don't make sense. They're awkward to use and rarely faster than using a good touchpad (something Apple is known for).

Terrible ergonomics for working on a screen, which on top of getting smudgy, you will need to hold from falling backwards. Just like touchscreen PC notebooks from the Windows 8 era, which everyone hated.
And this is on their premium, most expensive model to date no less.
Apple is officially out of ideas to sell stuff, they're down to recycling failed ideas from a decade ago.

Those prices.... Insane. For high level creators ONLY PCs. This is not a consumer-grade pricing. And they know that exactly. This is why the insanely luring Event and sales website and all. You DO NOT NEED a pc like this. Just NO!
Maybe a creator would buy it and could afford it. No, not with credit. Cash. If you can not pay for it out of pocket you cannot afford a thing. If you can't even afford half of it's price, you are probably not the person who needs that expensive stuff like this. That's it.

Look at Vision Pro, it has so much capability but visionOS is based on iPadOS so Apple can continue its AppStore rule and don't want Vision Pro users to have fun.
