Last week at Innovate360, Naco Technologies joined the panel "Boosting Latvia’s High-Tech Exports: Energy as a Case Study", organized by RTU Science and Innovation Centre. Our CEO, Aleksandrs Parfinovics, shared the stage with Līga Rozentāle (Ministry of Climate and Energy), Kaspars Liepins Liepiņš (H2Latvia), and Kristers Moisejs (EIT RawMaterials RIS Hub Baltic) to discuss how Latvia can better translate innovation into high-value, export-ready technologies. Latvia still needs to catch up with most EU countries when it comes to innovation and its commercialization. The good news? We don’t need to reinvent the wheel—we can learn from ecosystems that are already delivering results. The time we save can be converted into rapid economic growth, and only then can we start thinking seriously about becoming a leader in the clean tech race. Demand for Green Hydrogen in Europe is fueled by regulatory requirements, while supply is propelled by incentives and public support schemes. 2. Storage and infrastructure are advancing, albeit at a slower pace. 3. Inspirational projects like ECO2FLY eSAF PROYECT and EneGas hydrogen pipeline backbone are paving the way for Spain’s green energy transition. We – Naco Technologies – just got back from the Hydrogen + Fuel Cells EUROPE Expo at HANNOVER MESSE, and it was a great week. We had our own stand this year, connected with many of our current and future partners, and got a solid overview of what others in the industry are working on. We also had the chance to present at the Technical Forum Stage—our talk on CCMs, porous high-surface catalytic coatings, and protective coatings for electrolyzers and fuel cells sparked a lot of interest. Big thanks to the organizers for the warm welcome and for running such a smooth event. Special thanks to the Hannover Fair Moderator Brian Poole for the great conversations, and to Jelena Hartmann and Tobias Renz for all the support. It was also great catching up with our partners at ErreDue S.p.A.. Thank you to Claudio D'Angelo, Riccardo Bondi, and Gianluca Conti for the insightful discussions—we’re excited about what we’ll build together next. And one quick takeaway: we at the EU are doing a solid job setting targets (like the use of the green hydrogen share in the industry), but to really get businesses on board, we need more reliable incentives—not just rules. More carrots, fewer sticks. All in all, a very productive few days.
