Under Article 16 of the Indian Constitution, is there a clause which allows the state to make provisions for reservation in public services, for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes?
I see that 16(4) is for backward classes. 16(4A) is about matters related to promotion and is silent on reservation of posts.
Is there something which I'm missing?
