The strategies from Kate Towsey's masterclass on democratizing research were brilliant. What a great way to connect with other amazing professionals.

Helena Ronfeldt, Senior ResearchOps Program Manager,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

Extremely insightful! I walked away from the class with a lot of clarity on what a research strategy is and how I should think about my strategies. The class made me rethink a lot of things, and I now have some clear actions I need to take to help drive my strategy. Think small first and map out the problems–start with measurements! If it's not measurable, it may not even be a problem.

Jo Squire, Design Researcher,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

I'm still so captivated by the masterclass experience! I found it incredibly relevant and practical. The framework is straightforward to apply–no complex theory–just an actionable way of thinking that works in real-world scenarios. I was also elated to have met a wonderful bunch of brilliant folks across the discipline; I hope to keep this "energized me" from the class for as long as possible!

Marionne Cagandahan-Obenauer, UX Operations Lead,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

Unusually for a day of training, the masterclass with Kate was a truly joyous experience...the in-person masterclass was nourishing for the soul, as well as packed with practical advice and information. It was honestly one of the best courses I’ve attended–possibly ever! If you love the book, Research That Scales, but need extra help or motivation to apply it to your work, attend this masterclass. You will walk away with a deeper understanding and the ability to apply Kate’s book to your work.

Becky Wright, Senior Staff Product Researcher,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

It was invaluable to spend a day focusing on methodical and structured thinking with great guidance from Kate (and Glenn), especially in this fast-moving world. Their knowledge, frameworks, and personal stories were both inspiring and immediately applicable to my current role. I also loved that the vibe was authentic and their knowledge sharing was generous. I felt challenged but not intimidated.

Yi Wu, Principal Design Researcher,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

I felt privileged to be part of the in-person class. I appreciated the time to focus and learn from Kate. I'm also grateful for the opportunity to meet other ResearchOps professionals and gather in-person. The value extended beyond the day, though. The masterclass began at signup. I don't have many opportunities to receive feedback from other ReOps leaders. Kate's asyncronous feedback building up to the day in London was incredibly helpful.

Christen Penny, Senior ResearchOps Manager,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

As I grow older professionally, the desire to keep learning is still there, but it’s sometimes harder to find moments that offer truly useful and thought-provoking insights. Kate Towsey manages to do just that: with clarity (but never oversimplification), she helps you re-examine assumptions and reflect on some of the systemic habits we carry with us.

Simon Mastrangelo, Ergonomics & Human Factors Specialist,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

The masterclass was such a revelation: I was expecting a more task-oriented work but instead you brought us to think strategically for a whole day, which was refreshing and so much needed. I ended the day with a brain full of meaningful questions, and I can't wait to bring them back to my work and start acting on them right away thanks to the framework you shared.

Raffaella Roviglioni, Design Researcher & Strategist,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

I loved the balance between passive learning and hands on practice. I also loved the tools you provided; it helped turn theory into practice.

Laís Freitas, Staff User Experience Operations Strategist,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

The masterclass was truly amazing. It felt more like a meditation on how to think, act, and communicate strategically across all business functions than just a guide to operationalizing research strategy. It even inspired me to work with all my distractions snoozed as the intense focus during the day was so productive. I will surely think of Kate's framework to handle multiple priorities that I'm juggling.

Ayse Yedekci Schelhaas, ResearchOps Manager,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

I found the class really engaging, well structured, and relevant. Kate is a fantastic teacher, and there was actionable advice that I'll be able to really use in my job right away. I was very impressed overall!

Luke Haliburton, UX & Design Researcher,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

I loved it; it really exceeded expectations. It was a good mix of theory and practice. We had the focus time to actually put the theory into practice and write our own ideas on the strategies we'd brought, which I really appreciated. The hosts were great, along with the content and the atmosphere. The masterclass was easy to follow and keep engaged.

Marc Boix Permanyer, Senior UX Operations Manager,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

The masterclass was incredibly insightful and offered a framework that’s not only applicable to scaling ResearchOps, but also adaptable to other areas of work. It sparked a lot of ideas and “aha” moments–especially relevant to the priorities I’m currently tackling in my role at TravelPerk.

Agustina Di Clemente, UX ResearchOps Specialist,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

I thought the masterclass was fantastic. It hit all the right points, gave so much food for thought. A really great mixture of theory, alongside experience, and time to reflect on my own priorities.

Emma Baird, Head of Research Operations,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

A wonderful experience to take a step back and learn about how to apply research strategies. The masterclass really opened my mind to why it's important to build a strategy, and how to achieve it through a very thorough method, concrete examples, and invaluable advice from Kate's experience and reflection. The rhythm and exercises were perfectly balanced between theory and practice.

Simon Garret, Lead UX Researcher,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

I really appreciated that we maximised our time by working on strategic priorities without any unessential activities, such as icebreakers and participant introductions. The part by Glenn Familton on how to sell your strategies was a great new input on something we don't usually address in our field. I feel this masterclass will guide my future practice for a long time, and I'll keep it in mind!

Simon Garret, Lead UX Researcher,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

I loved the structure and content of the masterclass; it felt like it was meant to happen. The engaging discussions truly empowered me, validating my previous experiences and clarifying why the things that matter most to me make perfect sense. I can now clearly envision myself in a ResearchOps role, and the tools and learnings from this masterclass will undoubtedly be my compass as I develop my skills further.

Miwon Seo-Plu PhD, Sociological Strategist,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

Kate's work has long inspired me, but meeting face-to-face for a full-day workshop was a unique opportunity to metabolize the theory behind Research That Scales by diving into the practice of how to apply it to my own real-life research scenario. Well-timed, perfectly articulated and designed with much attention to detail, the session allowed me to get the necessary focus to internalize the methodology proposed by Kate, all while having great discussions with smart people.

Arianna Biamonti, Lead User Researcher,
Scaling & Systematising Research 2025

When I attended Kate's ResearchOps masterclass in 2022, I was nearly a newbie to the topic. Thanks to the day, I was able to step back from the challenges I met at that time and define a clear vision and strategy for the short-term: 100% actionable!

Marion Damiens, User Researcher,
User Research London, 2022

Kate is wonderful and it was a great treasure to have a full day with her, unlocking her brain and learning from her experiences.

Attendee,
DesignOps Summit 2019

Loved EVERYTHING! But giving a foundation of ResearchOps and providing some great, critical-thinking questions to ask myself and my team.

Attendee,
DesignOps Summit 2019

The thought leadership and experience of the facilitator, the stories she had to tell about how it works at her company and at those of her peers. The homework was very good and has basically become our framework for planning. We worked on it as a team before the workshop and then as a larger team after the workshop. As the manager of a UX team that 'owns' all the aspects of the design spectrum I particularly liked the discussion around ReOps and research strategy and how they complement each other but are not the same thing.

Attendee,
Strive 2019

As someone new to ResearchOps, it was eye opening and encouraging to see everything that it can encompass, and examples of how to have a bigger impact on the team.

Attendee,
Strive 2019

I enjoyed how Kate got into ResearchOps and her background. She was very engaging and made the workshop more of an open-space conversation than just a lecture. I enjoyed connecting with others from different companies across not just the country, but globally. It was great insight for non-ResearchOps professionals to understand what ResearchOps is and how much is involved in the role.

Attendee,
Strive 2019

Having the opportunity to talk with other ReOps peeps about pain points, solutions, and ideas–it was nice to know that my issues aren't unique. I loved getting a clearly defined definition of what ResearchOps is, but more importantly, what it's not... it's nice to have tangible guidelines to steer us in the right direction.
