🚲✨Steel reinvented: our AM journey with Colnago featured in Metal Additive Manufacturing magazine! We are proud to see the Colnago Steelnovo project featured in the latest issue of Metal Additive Manufacturing magazine. In his article, Nick Williams explores how this bike marks a new era for steel, blending heritage with high-tech engineering. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 The Steelnovo celebrates Colnago’s 70th anniversary by combining iconic Columbus steel tubing with advanced 316L stainless steel nodes. It’s a "future-proof" machine that maintains the classic ride quality of steel while achieving the integration and performance of a modern race bike. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗫 Working alongside ADDITIVA srl, ATLIX was the technological heart of this development: 👉 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: The nodes were manufactured on our ATLIX TruPrint 3000 system, ensuring high-performance results and industrial repeatability. 👉𝗪𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 & 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵: Our PBF-LB technology allowed for internal ribbing and thin-walled geometries, reducing node weight by up to 50% compared to CNC machining. 👉𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆: We co-developed dedicated parameters for the ATLIX proprietary build processor, minimizing support structures and manual post-processing to speed up production. 👉𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: This collaboration enabled "hidden" welds and full cable integration, achieving the clean look of carbon fiber without losing the soul of steel. This project proves that Additive Manufacturing is a strategic enabler for the "Made in Italy" excellence, allowing for faster cycles and unparalleled design freedom. We are grateful to Colnago and Additiva for this incredible collaboration and to Nick Williams for the brilliant feature: thank you for capturing the essence of our innovation so well!🙏 Read here the full article: https://bit.ly/3NY9Wfs #MetalAM #3DPrinting #MadeInItaly
