It's a wrap for SSP 2026. Last week, we spent time with customers and partners in sunny Chula Vista, CA. Thank you to everyone who shared their perspectives and experiences with us. We leave with plenty to reflect on. For us, the most meaningful accolade is customer advocacy. Nothing beats the feeling when your customer shares the stage with you to highlight the business outcomes they achieved using your solution. Special thanks to Rob O'Donnell and Bill Kasdorf for sharing their experiences during our industry session on Smart, Safe, and Boring AI. And thank you to Byron Laws, for leading the morning meditation sessions throughout the conference. A thoughtful way to start the day. Thank you, Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) 2026. We are already looking forward to Providence, RI! Paul Richmond, Meredith Adinolfi, Michael Di Natale, Gwendolyn Whittaker, Sameer Kanodia, Anju Kanodia, Sandeep Dhawan, Shanthi Krishnamoorthy, Byron Laws, Ravi Pardesi, Neelanjan Sinha, Jack Mitchell, Kurt Jordan. #SSP2026 #ScholarlyPublishing #AIinPublishing #LuminaDatamatics #TNQTech

As we gear up for the 48th SSP Annual Meeting, we’re looking back at how past Society for Scholarly Publishing gatherings have shaped discussions around AI and scholarly publishing over the years. In 2023, what began as an exploration of the excitement, uncertainty, and possibilities surrounding emerging LLMs quickly deepened into discussions about trust, ethics, and practical applications. By 2024, the focus had shifted to understanding where human intelligence remains indispensable, how AI-human collaboration can be designed responsibly, and why technology should be employed not simply because it exists, but because it is useful, safe, and valuable in context. In 2025, those discussions evolved further to balance innovation and accountability while redefining value. This year’s gathering promises to be an important one for the challenges and opportunities ahead of us. How we can be a technology partner that supports scholarly publishers in staying true to “the mission of integrity at the heart of scholarly communications” is a question we keep asking ourselves. In our upcoming breakout session "Smart, Safe, and Boring AI: From Prototype to Production," Sandeep Dhawan, Neelanjan Sinha, and Byron Laws discuss how organisations can move AI from experimentation to dependable, trustworthy, and scalable production environments. Join the conversation, RSVP to add the session to your calendar: https://lnkd.in/gHambBmr See you at #SSP2026! #TNQTech #LuminaDatamatics #SSP2026 #ResponsibleAI #ScholComm

  • #MarchAndAprilUpdate: Series 2 In our last post, we shared how we’ve been focusing on wellness and sustainability. Today, we’re diving into the incredible ways our teams have been learning, innovating, and pushing tech boundaries over the last two months. We had the absolute pleasure of hosting Yohann Kunders, User Researcher at Chess.com. Drawing from his stellar background with Nike Lab and Olark, Yohann treated our teams to a masterclass on unlocking true user needs and building software that genuinely delivers. Continuous improvement is deeply rooted in our DNA, and this year's Annual Kaizen event proved exactly why. Our teams stepped up to showcase brilliant initiatives that have already made a real impact on our processes and performance. Huge congratulations to all of our well-deserved winners! Around the same time, our Technology and R&D divisions gathered for an energetic, in-person All-Hands Meeting to map out business updates, industry developments, and the exciting road ahead. Meanwhile, our Lead Product Manager, Susil Kumar Ramamurthy, represented us at the Young Investigators’ Meeting in Pune. His conversations with researchers surfaced vital insights into the modern publishing experience, including the lack of visibility after manuscript submission, concerns around AI reliability, and proofing challenges. It was a powerful reminder that the best, most meaningful products are built only when we listen closely to the people using them. Innovation then took centre stage during Hackathon 2026, hosted by the Tech Org. Think 17 teams, 10 intense hours, and pure, cross-functional collaboration. Participants stepped right outside their daily roles to tackle real-world challenges and bring bold ideas to life. Guided by industry experts and fuelled by sheer creativity, the energy in the room perfectly captured our spirit of experimentation. To wrap it all up, we celebrated our people at Euphoria, our Quarterly Recognition event for the Coimbatore team. It was wonderful to shine a spotlight on the dedication, achievements, and impact our teams continue to bring to TNQTech every single day. #TNQTech #Innovation #Hackathon2026 #LuminaDatamatics

  • #MarchAndAprilUpdate: The past two months at TNQTech have been busy, but in the absolute best way! We’ve been packed to the brim with learning, innovation, and milestone moments that have kept our teams energised and inspired to keep pushing boundaries together. Because so much happened, we’re splitting our round-up into two parts so we can share all the highlights without missing a beat. Series 1 We kicked things off by celebrating International Women’s Day with our incredible colleagues. It was a day filled with meaningful conversations, laughter, the distribution of plant saplings, and, of course, plenty of chocolate! More than just a celebration, it was a vibrant reminder of what inclusion and belonging truly mean to us. Sustainability is a massive part of who we are. So naturally, International Day of Zero Waste was the perfect excuse to take action. In collaboration with ROKA, we launched a waste collection drive across our Chennai and Coimbatore offices. The result? An amazing 290 kg of waste was collected and responsibly disposed of. A massive shoutout to our fantastic Admin team for pulling this off seamlessly. (And as the summer heat rolled in, they also set up refreshing buttermilk stands across our offices to keep everyone cool and hydrated!) Between busy schedules and deadlines, we all know how tough it can be to maintain a balanced, nutritious diet. To tackle this, we hosted an incredibly engaging online nutrition session with Dr. Meghana Pasi from Arogya World. Dr Pasi walked us through the essentials of portion control, healthier eating habits, decoding food labels, and choosing foods that support mental well-being. The interactive quizzes and activities made the session just as fun as it was insightful. Stay tuned for Series 2, where we’ll dive into our latest tech collaborations, hackathon highlights, and big wins! #TNQTech #LifeAtTNQ #Sustainability #LuminaDatamatics

  • This Global Accessibility Awareness Week, we’re reflecting on a simple but important truth: knowledge is only powerful when it is accessible to everyone. At Lumina Datamatics & TNQTech (a Lumina Datamatics company), accessibility has never been treated as an afterthought or a compliance checkbox. It has been built into our publishing workflows from the start, helping publishers create inclusive reading experiences across journals, platforms, PDFs, multimedia, and digital content. As evolving global accessibility standards and WCAG continue to reshape publishing, the need for accessibility-first workflows has never been more important. From structured content and meaningful alt text to scalable AI-assisted accessibility solutions, we’re helping publishers remove barriers to knowledge at scale. #GlobalAccessibilityAwarenessDay #GAAD #ContentAccessibility #TNQTech #LuminaDatamatics

  • TNQTech’s office in Chennai has been the centre of some exciting activity in the last week: We had Paula Mariani Mazzoni join us mid-week for an interactive session about product discovery in the age of AI. Paula has been a part of Product and Design leadership around the world for 18+ years, and her insights were invaluable to our team. Over the weekend, TNQTech's Design team hosted an evening with Friends of Figma, Chennai, Notion Chennai, and close to 200 attendees from Chennai’s active design and developer communities, making a presentation about how we use design in our product suite for scholarly publishers. These events underscore our organisational philosophy about leveraging design for a better publishing experience, and TNQTech will continue to actively host and participate in local product, design, and engineering communities. Thank you to Paula Mariani, Sandeep Baskaran, and Bhaarath Vijay Ramesh, and Chennai's Friends of Figma and Notion communities for a week of thoughtful design!

We hosted Notion Developer Platform Highlights + Agents 2.0 in Chennai today — and it was everything we hoped for and more. We walked through the new developer platform, demoed Custom Agents and Workers live, and explored what an agentic personal knowledge management workspace actually looks like when built from scratch inside Notion. But the best part? The room didn't just watch — they jumped in. People shared how they're already using Custom Agents personally and professionally. Real use cases. Real workflows. The kind of stuff you can't script. Huge thank you to everyone who showed up on a Saturday morning to geek out with us. And a massive shoutout to TNQTech for hosting us — your space, your energy, and your team made this possible. This is what community looks like. See you at the next one, Chennai. 🙌
