    For the last few years I volunteer in YBL organization as business trainer, give lectures in one of their courses and help by training in management , for the propose of encouraging employment in the periphery and target population sectors in Israel.

    YBL is a nonprofit organization, aiming to develop a culture of leadership and excellence among teenagers and young adults from various sectors across Israel, by promoting entrepreneurship and civic engagement.

    Following a great year of sales, the Silicom Ops department decided to implement a BI tool to manage internal processes.
    As the CIO, I have reviewed many BI tools and chose to implement Qlik.
    Qlik BI will manage the following task and many more:
    · Optimize stock level – Allow stock procurement based on available stock. components lead time and “dead stock”. Define recommended safety stock level based on past consumption and future forecasts.

    · Supplier grading – Statistical evaluation based on supplier past behavior with regards to on-time delivery and quality of supplied goods.
    · EDT – capacity management of production floor and identification of production bottle necks.
    · Production Analysis – Evaluation of any gaps between planned capacity and actual production improve production flow allow planning for future production increase.

    The BI project has started in the Ops department and to be implement in the future in other departments as well across the organization.
