It is dedicated to basic science in fields such as physics ⚛️, chemistry 🧫, biology 🧬, mathematics ➗, and computer science 💻. Researchers at the institute are responsible for groundbreaking discoveries in cancer research , neuroscience 🧠, renewable energy ☀️, and space science 🚀. The Weizmann Institute plays a vital global role 🌍 by advancing knowledge 📚, training future scientists 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬, and collaborating with institutions worldwide 🤝. And yet, the Iranian regime bombed this very important institute. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed, but several buildings dedicated to life sciences research, including cancer research, were severely damaged, along with a building focused on environmental sciences. “The damage to some laboratories is catastrophic,” said Prof. Sarel Fleishman of the Faculty of Biochemistry at Weizmann. “In life science labs, much of the knowledge is embedded in the devices and freezers, materials developed by researchers over many years. Ministry of Defense Spokesperson: The Ministry of Defense, the IDF, and Israel Aerospace Industries successfully launched the ‘Ofek 19’ satellite into space. The Space Directorate in MAFAT (Administration for Research, Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure) at the Ministry of Defense, the IDF, and Israel Aerospace Industries successfully launched the ‘Ofek 19’ satellite last night (Tuesday) at 22:30. The launch was carried out using a “Shavit” satellite launcher from a test range in central Israel. The ‘Ofek 19’ is an advanced radar observation satellite. Once entering orbit around Earth, it will undergo a series of tests to verify its integrity and performance levels. The defense space program is led by the Space Directorate in MAFAT and includes various IDF partners, such as Unit 9900 of the Intelligence Directorate and the Israeli Air Force. Israel Aerospace Industries developed and manufactured the satellite and launcher as the project’s main contractor. The Missiles and Space Systems Division, through the “Space” plant, led the project in collaboration with the “Elta” division, which produced the payload, and with the MLM plant, which led launcher development together with the companies “Tomer” and “Rafael,” who produced the rocket engines. #MAFAT #ELTA #MLM #RAFAEL #TOMER #SPACE

I had the opportunity to participate in the “Future of Education and Employment in the Age of AI” hackathon, held this week at Reichman University, initiated by the university’s president, Boaz Ganor, and outstandingly organized by Yossi Maaravi. 📍 What immediately came to mind is the importance of #systemsthinking, #criticalthinking, and #responsible use of AI. Beyond technical capabilities, there is a clear need for foundational education on AI that addresses its broader impacts, including resource consumption, pollution, carbon footprint, waste, and long-term sustainability. These aspects must become an integral part of how we teach and use AI across all disciplines. 📍 More than 120 participants took part, including deans, faculty members, industry partners, and prominent alumni. Ten roundtables represented different schools and disciplines, ranging from sustainability, computer science, entrepreneurship, and law to medicine, economics, psychology, communications, business, and government. 📍 The forward-thinking discussions focused on three core questions: i. How is the job market changing within each discipline as a result of AI? ii. What should the profile of future graduates look like in terms of mindset, skills, and capabilities? iii. How to redesign curricula, courses, teaching approaches, and institutional structures to prepare graduates for a rapidly changing world? 📍 The conversation around AI was not limited to technological change. It emphasized the responsibility that comes with adoption and the need to consider the sustainable and societal impacts of AI-driven systems. Autonomous Guard continues to expand its cooperation with the Israeli defense establishment. Our subsidiary BeeSense Sensor Systems has received a new order valued at approximately NIS 4 million for the supply and maintenance of advanced technological systems supporting defense personnel. Sustainable Aviation Fuel – SAF As part of IAI’s commitment to green energy, IAI - Israel Aerospace Industries is participating in the SAF consortium together with Bazan Group (Oil Refineries Ltd.), Hifa Refinery, Gaia Biotechnologies Ltd., Green Gain Energy and Gadot. The consortium is supported by leading researchers from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, the Technion, Bar-Ilan University, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The Technical manager of the consortium is Zeev Savion and led on behalf of IAI BY Kobi Adulami. The initiative aims to advance research into the production of sustainable aviation fuel using advanced technologies with minimal carbon emissions. In parallel, the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology has established an innovation center in this field, in partnership with and with investment from Boeing. Following the completion of the feasibility phase, the Technion and Boeing announced the practical development of SAF from green hydrogen and carbon dioxide, with the goal of enabling competitive commercial production and reducing emissions in the aviation sector. As part of the transition of the research from the initial feasibility phase to the second phase, an event was held at the Technion with the participation of the President of the Technion and the President of Boeing global , who emphasized Boeing’s commitment to investing in and supporting the research at the Technion.

A partnership between Gevasol, Gilboa Regional Council and Arieli Foundation, has won the tender of the Israel Innovation Authority to establish a national technology accelerator. But this is not just another accelerator. This is a unique and innovative model designed to create new jobs through deep transformation of existing industrial companies. For years, the Israeli economy has been driven primarily by startups and exits. This growth engine is important ,but it is not enough. The next phase of Israel’s economic evolution is the upgrade of its existing industry. The future will not be shaped only in high-tech towers, but also on the production floor. The Israel Innovation Authority has chosen a bold and groundbreaking approach: supporting factories through a profound shift in their core operating model — from strategic diagnosis, through defining a new business direction, building an implementation plan, and executing it fully. The process is backed by flexible and substantial funding designed to enable real transformation. A clear example of the direction envisioned is the transformation of TopGum Industries, which evolved from a candy manufacturer into a global nutritional supplements company. A shift in value chain. A shift in positioning. A shift in the future. When a factory undergoes technological transformation, it does not only increase revenues. It upgrades the quality of jobs, improves productivity, strengthens the value chain, and enters new markets. The accelerator will be established in the Gilboa region and will serve as a national center of knowledge and technology to support industrial transformation processes across Israel. This initiative connects traditional industry with innovation, the periphery with excellence, and vision with applied economic policy. We see this as a long-term growth engine — one that will strengthen existing industry, create higher-quality employment, and position the region as a hub for advanced manufacturing.
