What happens when you give 2 passionate organizational psychologists a mic and an hour in 1H 2025? I had the distinct privilege of being on Itamar Katsch's #scalingup podcast during my visit to the inspiring Similarweb HQ in Tel Aviv last month. We covered crucial ground with numerous insights for any organizational leader seeking to thrive in times of profound change and uncertainty. Two nuggets in particular that I've found to be hyper-relevant right now: 1. Resistance to change is inevitable. If you change something, expect resistance—overt or (more likely) covert. As leaders, we're so often caught off guard by this reality. But when you build this principle into your assumptions, you'll become a leader who excels at navigating change through proactive, empathetic, and strategic engagement. 2. In these AI-driven times of hyper-innovation and disruption, curiosity is your competitive advantage. But under heightened stress and pressure, it's one of the first things to disappear. Our amygdala (emotion center) takes over, and instead of staying open to possibilities, we default to reacting, solving, fighting, or fleeing. The best leaders know how to keep their prefrontal cortex (planning and critical thinking center) running the show—interpreting signals from the amygdala without getting hijacked by them. Earlier today, I had the privilege of participating in the expert panel at an event organized by Alumni Global on the theme "Megatrends Changing Today's HR" While living in constant change is nothing new, a turbulent world and transformative technological shifts are creating a rate of change rarely seen before How do we relate to an accelerating pace of change? My personal stance can be summarized as follows: 👉 Embrace new technological solutions: Especially the opportunities that AI tools and models create. Someone said to me: "Let AI do your laundry so you can focus on the art." This shouldn't be taken literally but rather to mean that smart tools can save a lot of time, allowing you to focus on what builds value 👉 Value curiosity and learning speed in employees: Skills and experience quickly become obsolete in a rapidly changing world 👉 Challenge the status quo by constantly questioning everything: However, don't change for change's sake and always ensure that you're solving real problems. Like everyone in Israel, I’m feeling relieved and hopeful - for the hostages, the end of the war, and returning after the Chaguim. That same energy inspired my talk last Sunday: Career Tips for Olim. While preparing my notes, I realized I could make it more fun and interactive. So instead of simply listing “tips” I created a quiz about the Israeli job market, using Kahoot! Not many people know this, but I have a business mindset and a real love for economics and data. 📊 I often hear things like: 💬 “It’s hard to find a job in Israel” 💬 “The market’s bad because of the war” 💬 “Salaries barely go up” But I believe in seeing the bigger picture, and the data tells a very different story! Here are some facts that surprised everyone online: ✅ The minimum hourly wage has gone up to ₪34.32. ✅ The national average salary is now ₪14,201/month - also higher. ✅ The high-tech average salary is an impressive ₪36,700/month (mainly R&D and leadership roles). ✅ Yet the high-tech sector employs only 11.5% of the workforce - this means there are plenty of opportunities outside of high-tech too! ✅ And Israel’s unemployment rate is around 3% - the same as before the war! So yes, challenges remain, but the message is clear: Israel’s job market is resilient, opportunities are increasing, and the economy is moving forward. For me, that’s the perfect metaphor for what’s happening now. We’re all rebuilding, step by step, with hope, data, and a bit of chutzpah.

Coaching, AI and CFI's position #AIcoaching #AI #coaching #coachingbot Friends, I would like to talk about coaching, artificial intelligence and CFI's position on this subject. Maybe a year ago when there was a strong emerging evidence that artificial intelligence will play an increasingly strong role in coaching. Many of us at CFI went through a range of thoughts and emotions. At one level, being deeply humanistic and believing in the personalized nature of our work, asked ourselves, how can AI play a role and should it? At another level, we realized the power of artificial intelligence and its inevitable attraction to individuals, both coaches and coaches, in embracing it. At a third level, as coaches, we are constantly coaching leaders to be adaptive, to respond to changes positively. And we told ourselves that we should practice that ourselves. So a year later, I must say that we are in a fairly good place on this subject. What have we done? We first set up a study group to understand artificial intelligence, to understand what role it can play in coaching. The study group consisting of many members of the CFI community put together an outstanding report, shared it with all role holders in CFI, at the end of which we were able to take a position on what artificial intelligence can and should mean to coaching and CFI. At one level, we believe that AI can help coaches be more efficient in the work they do. It is possible that AI can also help coaches be more effective in the work they do. At a third level, we believe that because we are dealing with individuals, data protection, privacy, confidentiality, safety are extremely important and we need to have very strong guardrails to ensure that we do not cause any unintended harm. Today, we have a strong ethical code on how we will embrace AI with responsibility. The foundation of which is that we will inform clients, we will inform coaches, we will ensure that they have the veto power in the use of AI. We have also launched a program to help coaches learn to use AI with a certain level of mastery and responsibility because ignorance can cause fear. Knowledge and expertise can only help us do it with responsibility and competence. Today, we are in a position where we continue to celebrate the uniqueness that we as coaches bring but also recognize the value that AI can offer to a coach as an aid and as a support in the work that they do. At a deeper level, I believe we have learned to adapt to what we believe is a significantly disruptive technological development and we feel quite proud about it.
