For years, least privilege sounded like a solved problem. It is not. Cyera Research and Oso looked at how permissions are actually used in production. This is the first time this has been measured at this scale, not based on policy or design, but on what people actually do. Most of them are never touched. That does not make them safe. It means they are sitting there, available. People tend to ignore that excess access. Agents will not. RSAC has a way of going by fast. Somewhere between coffee at the Hyatt, long walks between meetings, and more conversations than we can count, the same theme kept coming up. AI is moving quickly.
