Internal document notes in Dropbox DocSend
Updated Feb 03, 2026

Overview
Documents stored in the content section have an internal note feature, which can be used to give more context and details about the document. This is a great way to ensure teammates stay up to date about the state of the document.
Important: Internal document notes are only visible to other DocSend users on your DocSend account and are not visible to visitors.
Best Practices
Updates & Context
You can use the note section to provide updates on how the document can be used. We typically recommend including dates, users, and also bullet points whenever possible.
Search-ability
Improve search-ability with a tagging structure. We recommend putting an underscore (_) in front of specific terms to make searching easier. Ex. _SecondVersion, _NewCopy.
Things to consider
- The description note for documents in Spaces is public facing and will be visible to visitors when a space is shared.
