How to connect Zoom to Dropbox Dash

This article describes a feature available to all Dropbox Dash customers.
You can connect your Zoom account to Dropbox Dash so you can access and search your Zoom content directly within Dash.
This requires OAuth authentication to ensure Dash only retrieves information relevant to your data, giving you full control over what Dash can access.
Requirements
To connect Zoom to Dash, make sure you meet the following requirements:
- Admin approval: The app must be enabled by your Dash admin. If Zoom isn’t listed in your Apps, contact your admin.
- Authorization: You must authorize Dash in Zoom.
- Active account: You need an active account with Zoom.
Integration features
For Zoom, Dash captures the following details:
- Meeting transcripts: Dash integration allows users to search across meeting metadata and recording transcripts. Customers can quickly find Zoom meetings based on the meeting title, metadata, or recording transcripts.
API permissions
Note: Dash uses Zoom developer APIs to ingest data.
When connecting Zoom to Dropbox Dash, Dash requests the following authorizations:
- Profile and contact information: Access user and contact information, such as user name, display name, picture, email address, and user ID.
- Meetings: Access scheduled Zoom meetings and webinars, and related details about those meetings.
- Settings: Access Zoom preferences, meeting settings, screen sharing settings, and other configuration information.
- Participant profile and contact information: Access participant user and contact information, such as user name, display name, picture, email address, and user ID.
- Content: Access content generated by Zoom products, including video, audio, transcriptions, chats, and related context such as invitation details and meeting names.
- Registration: Access the registration information that participants provide when registering for a Zoom meeting or recording, including their responses to registration questions and other relevant details.
How content syncing works
- Content sync starts as soon as you connect. Although the first sync may take several hours to finish, you can start searching while sync is in progress.
- Dash performs a full sync of your Zoom content every 7 days and an incremental sync every 8 minutes.
Note: Zoom Calendar details aren't synced to avoid conflicts with other calendar apps supported by Dash, such as Google and Outlook.
How to connect your Zoom account to Dropbox Dash
To connect Zoom to Dropbox Dash:
- Log in to dash.ai.
- Note: You can also connect apps from the Dropbox home page by clicking ① Ask Dash, then ① (Attach sources), then Connect apps.
- Click Apps near the bottom of the left sidebar.
- Locate Zoom in the apps list.
- Click ① (add) to the right of Zoom.
- Enter your Zoom login credentials, or select a Zoom account to connect to Dash.
- Review the permissions requested, then click Allow.
How to remove your Zoom account from Dropbox Dash
- Log in to dash.ai.
- Note: You can also manage apps from the Dropbox home page by clicking ① Ask Dash, then ① (Attach sources), then Manage apps.
- Click Apps near the bottom of the left sidebar.
- Locate Zoom in the apps list.
- Click ① (more options) to the right of Zoom.
- Click Disconnect.
- Click Disconnect in the pop-up window that appears.
- Note: You can reconnect the app anytime.
How to check your connected apps
To check what apps you’ve connected to Dropbox Dash:
- Log in to dash.ai.
- Note: You can also manage apps from the Dropbox home page by clicking ① Ask Dash, then ① (Attach sources), then Manage apps.
- Click Apps near the bottom of the left sidebar.
You’ll see a list of your connected apps in the Added section, along with their connection status.
Admins: How to connect Zoom for your team
Before your team members can connect their Zoom accounts to Dropbox Dash, you’ll need to enable it in the admin console. To do this:
- Log in to dash.ai using your admin credentials.
- Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the lower left.
- Select Admin console.
- Click Apps.
- Click the More apps tab.
- Click ①Add to the right of Zoom.
- Click Enable Zoom in the pop-up window that appears.
You’ll see a notification that says Zoom was enabled.
