How to connect Canva to Dropbox Dash

You can connect your Canva account to Dropbox Dash so you can access and search your Canva content directly within Dash. 

This requires OAuth authentication to ensure Dash only retrieves information relevant to your data, giving you full control over what Dash can access.

Requirements

To connect Canva to Dash, make sure you meet the following requirements:

• Admin approval: The app must be enabled by your Dash admin. If Canva isn't listed in your Apps, contact your admin.
• Authorization: You must authorize Dash in Canva.
• Active account: You need an active account with Canva.

• Designs: Dash gathers Canva design titles to enhance search capabilities.

When connecting Canva to Dropbox Dash, Dash requests the following authorizations:

• Design metadata: View the metadata of the user’s designs.

How content syncing works

• Content sync starts as soon as you connect. Although the first sync may take several hours to finish, you can start searching while sync is in progress.
• Dash performs a full sync of your Canva content every 7 days.

How to connect your Canva account to Dropbox Dash

To connect Canva to Dropbox Dash:

1. Log in to dash.ai.
2. Click Apps near the bottom of the left sidebar.
3. Locate Canva in the apps list.
4. Click ①(add) to the right of Canva.
5. Enter your Canva login credentials, or select a Canva account to connect to Dash.
6. Review the permissions requested, then click Allow.

How to remove your Canva account from Dropbox Dash

1. Log in to dash.ai.
2. Click Apps near the bottom of the left sidebar.
3. Locate Canva in the apps list.
4. Click (more options) to the right of Canva.
5. Click Disconnect.
6. Click Disconnect in the pop-up window that appears. 
   • Note: You can reconnect the app anytime.

How to check your connected apps

To check what apps you’ve connected to Dropbox Dash:

1. Log in to dash.ai.
2. Click Apps near the bottom of the left sidebar.

You’ll see a list of your connected apps in the Added section, along with their connection status.

Admins: How to connect Canva for your team

Before your team members can connect their Canva accounts to Dropbox Dash, you’ll need to enable it in the admin console. To do this:

1. Log in to dash.ai using your admin credentials.
2. Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
3. Click Dash. 
4. Click Apps. 
5. Click the More apps tab. 
6. Click Add to the right of Canva.
7. Click Enable Canva in the pop-up window that appears.

You’ll see a notification that says Canva was enabled.
