Drupal Farmers?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I don't know if I'm the only one out there who is doing Drupal + farming. I will be farming part-time next year. This presents a problem because during the growing season I will have much to do. I'm curious if there are other farmers out there doing web development. Maybe there is someone in the Southern hemisphere I can partner with :) ?

So weird...I just started http://groups.drupal.org/drupal-farmers with this EXACT purpose in mind. Connecting people who do Drupal part time and farm part time. Super awesome! Hoping to find more people doing that after the group is approved!

(I'm a wanna-be currently, but am looking at this model as my 5 year plan)

Updated group url?

Hi Rob,
Thanks for starting this group! I came via the Community Supported Agriculture group, but am also an active urban farmer. I'd love to connect with others balancing dirt and digital! What's the latest URL for the group? The links I've tried are broken.
Thanks!
Zoey

Dead Group

Unfortunately those in charge of Groups.drupal had problems with the group (silly things like including "Drupal" in the name) and after trying to work with them, they took the group down. So, poof: no more drupal farmers. (conversation was dying there, though...not many of us)

Dont kill the group

or maybe make a new group. there are many people on Drupal who grow vegetables at least. I worked on a farm two years ago and am interested in doing so again. I was just looking at this job ad where they were developing Drupal apps for planting and growing vegetables. there are interesting things going on out there with Drupal Farmers!

I joined the group because I was looking for an e-commerce solution for our veg bag scheme. I couldn't find what we needed so I built my own using Drupal and Ubercart - www.localgreens.org.uk
