About stdlib...
We believe in a future in which the web is a preferred environment for numerical computation. To help realize this future, we've built stdlib. stdlib is a standard library, with an emphasis on numerical and scientific computation, written in JavaScript (and C) for execution in browsers and in Node.js.
The library is fully decomposable, being architected in such a way that you can swap out and mix and match APIs and functionality to cater to your exact preferences and use cases.
When you use stdlib, you can be absolutely certain that you are using the most thorough, rigorous, well-written, studied, documented, tested, measured, and high-quality code out there.
To join us in bringing numerical computing to the web, get started by checking us out on GitHub, and please consider financially supporting stdlib. We greatly appreciate your continued support!
Return the part of a string after a specified substring.
import substringAfter from 'https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/stdlib-js/string-substring-after@esm/index.mjs';
Returns the part of a string after a specified substring.
var str = 'beep boop';
var out = substringAfter( str, 'o' );
// returns 'op'
out = substringAfter( str, ' ' );
// returns 'boop'
By default, the search starts at the beginning of the string. To start searching from a different index, provide a fromIndex
argument:
var str = 'boop baz boop';
var out = substringAfter( str, 'o', 3 );
// returns 'op'
- If a substring is not present in a provided string, the function returns an empty string.
- If provided an empty substring, the function returns the input string.
- If
fromIndex
is less than0
or greater thanstr.length
, the search starts at index0
andstr.length
, respectively.

@stdlib/string-substring-before
: return the part of a string before a specified substring.@stdlib/string-substring-before-last
: return the part of a string before the last occurrence of a specified substring.@stdlib/string-substring-after-last
: return the part of a string after the last occurrence of a specified substring.
This package is part of stdlib, a standard library with an emphasis on numerical and scientific computing. The library provides a collection of robust, high performance libraries for mathematics, statistics, streams, utilities, and more.
