Possible Idea for Future of UEVR #402

I am curious about the future of UEVR. I readily confess my lack of behind-the-scenes knowledge. As far as I understand, UEVR works with games made up to UE v5.4, but not above. According to A.I., it said it would technically be possible to modify future UE engine versions to work with UEVR, but the work would have to be done by the UE devs to make that happen.

If the issue is in regard to incentive, then hypothetically, could this proposed compromise work: UEVR continues to work with future versions of Unreal Engine, but exclusively with Steam Frame. This would incentivize Unreal Engine devs to make compatible modifications, while drawing gamers into Steam Frame and boosting hardware sales tied to Epic’s store/engine. Perhaps modders test VR edge cases, providing free insights for official features like Nanite/Lumen in VR. Stable hooks wouldn’t require full endorsement, hopefully just minimal adaption.

I've read Will Steam Machine be able to run most PCVR/UEVR - Steam Machine would only power low-end/older games, but higher-end PC's would still be able to run flat modern games through UEVR. I'd be happy to be mistaken, but It seems like either a compromise like this or else no solution for the foreseeable future.
