<p class="thought">دیدم، شاید ندیدم؟ دیدن چیست؟ نه، نمیدانم... نادانم؟</p>
<p>سرم گیج میرفت. هیچوقت مانند دیگران احساسات نداشتم. میدیدم اما درک نمیکردم؛ درک آسان نبود. درکِ انسان، شاید نوعی حیوان بود.</p>
<p>همه جا از شاخههای سیاه و لزجِ تپنده احاطه شده بود. کل دیوارهای این مکانِ تنگ و تاریک از همین ذات بودند. نوری نمیدیدم؛ شاخهها همه جا را فتح کرده بودند.</p>
<p>فقط یک مستطیل کوچک بود که از آن نور سفیدِ مناسبی پخش میشد. جزئیاتش مشخص نبود؛ مانند ورقی کاغذ که نور زیادی میداد. <br>
<span class="highlight-text">گرمایی نداشت. بیاحساس بود.</span></p>
<p>از آن را برداشتم و به عنوان منبع نور استفاده کردم. تنها مسیری که میدیدم، بیپایان و بیهدف به نظر میرسید.</p>
<p>اما از جایی، صدایی آرام میشنیدم. قدم به جلو میماندم و صدا واضحتر میشد... <br>
<span class="shout">صدای فریاد یک دختربچه بود!</span></p>
<p>دویدم و به او رسیدم. یک طناب چسبناک به شکل <strong>ششضلعی</strong> دور گردنش بود و در هوا آویزان بود. نگاهی به دهانش کردم؛ خوشحال بود و میخندید!</p>
<p class="thought">اما صدای فریاد میآمد! فکر کنم فریاد از دل او بود، نه از دهانش.</p>
<p>یک مستطیل نورانی دیگر هم آنجا بود و روی صورت دختر گرفته شده بود؛ مانند مستطیلِ من. نورانی و عجیب. دختر خودش را به آن طنابِ ششضلعی آویزان کرده بود.</p>
<p class="final-act">دختر را پایین آوردم. شروع کرد به گریههای شدید. گریههایش تمامی نداشت و من فقط نگاهش میکردم. حس کردم کارم اشتباه بود...</p>
<p class="final-act fatal">پس وی را بلند کردم و گردن او را دوباره بر طناب گذاشتم تا آویزان شود.</p>

بدن دختر شاد شد، برایم عجیب بود. به مستطیل سفید نگاه میکرد و راضی بود، هرچند دلش بابت دارآویخته بودن فریاد میزد.

او وابستهی مستطیل بود، تحت کنترل آن، اما من هیچ حسی نسبت به مستطیل نداشتم.

اوه! این بار صدای یک فریاد نبود، صدای دلهای زیادی را میشنیدم، بلاخره به جایی بزرگ رسیدم که فضای خالی بسیار زیادی بود.

هرچه کردم این کارش تمام نشد، نمیتوانستم این وضع را تحمل کنم.

یک پاسخگو میخواستم، یک پاسخگو تا بفهمم: اینجا کجاست! این شش ضلعی ها چیستند که کنترل تمام انسانها را دارند؟

به جنازهی جوان خیره شدم، نمیفهمیدم چرا این کار را کردم، احساس خاصی نداشتم. صدای محیط و فریاد انسانها آنقدر در سرم تکرار شده بود که حسشان نمیکردم. در آرامش نگاهی به انسانهای دارآویختهی دیگر کردم که به مستطیلهای خود خیره بودند و شاد میزیستند.

کمی دقت کردم، ضخامت ششضلعیها برابر نبود. برخی کلفت و محکم بود، اما برخی نازکتر. این بار جوان دیگری را برگرداندیم که طنابش ضخامتی کمتر و نور مستطیلش مقدار کمتری داشت. او را از طنابش پایین انداختم، شروع کرد به گریه کردن و التماس که دوباره آن را به بالا برگردانم. هرچه سوال میپرسیدم هیچ نمیدانست، فقط التماس میکرد که به طناب بازگردد. از آنهمه گریههای بیاساس خسته شدم، هیچ پاسخ مناسبی دریافت نمیکردم.

به راستی چه چیزی اینگونه وی را در کنترل داشت؟ نمیدانم، نادانم...

هنوز به دنبال یک انسان بودم که بتوانم با وی گفتگو کنم، چند چیز راجع به این مکان فهمیدم:

1- به مرور زمان، طنابهایی که حلقهی آنها مانند شش ضلعیست کلفتتر میشوند و افراد به طنابشان بیشتر وابسته میشوند.
<br>
2- اگر این انسانها از طناب خارج شوند، یا میمیرند و یا فروپاشی ذهنی میکنند.
<br>
و چرا هیچکس جز من بیدار نیست، بیدار نیست...

پسر دیگر خونی برای صحبت کردن نداشت.

حال به فکر فرو��فتم،

شاید وقتی انسانها را از طناب پایین میآوردم،

از وحشتناکیِ دنیای "واقعی و بدون لذت" دچار فروپاشی میشدند!

اما حداقل، طناب من نازک بود و به این دنیای بی رحم عادت داشتم.

انگار که اینجا طوفان خون آمده بود،

چاقو را از گردن پسر بیرون کشیدم و یک ایده به ذهنم رسید!

به یک سمت رفتم و با چاقو شاخه های سیاه را قطع کردم، تک به تک.

بلاخره به محفظهی دیگری رسیدم که همهی انسانهای آنجا بیدار بودند!

فکر کردم به عنوان غریبه، قرار است توجه زیادی به من شود یا احساس خطر کنند.

اما هیچ اهمیتی نبود،

کسی چیزی برایش مهم نبود.
<br>
آنان همگی از ذات کثیف جهان آگاه بودند و هیجانشان سرکوب شده بود.

مدتی بین آنها بودم و فهمیدم که همه نادانایند، کسی نمیداند ولی در نادانایی سهیماند. همگی در انزوای و افسردگی بودند.
