Github Projects Beta: Option to set a default value when adding an issue.

I just watched the youtube video by @azenMatt (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SI1ra-XHWHM) and we are buying into the idea of switching to Github Project Beta for our boards.

However, when setting up our first significant project, it was time-consuming to have to set default values on certain fields. The best example was setting the status to "backlog".

This is something you should be able to do in a day Matt! 😉

We do have a built in workflow (menu on the top right) that allows you to assign a status when an item is added, does this help at all?

We will have more options here soon to go past Status.

sadly for something that has the money that MS has its moving way too slow, they could easily make many people change from jira etc.. to github projects if just added "simple" features

Would be great if we could add a value to custom field from an API

This feature is to limited and should allow to set default value for any columns to improve project workflow !

Being able to set a default value for custom fields would really help a lot.

I want to be able to say new issues or items I create get assigned to me be default. However, when someone else adds issues or items then don't assign it to me. Hope taht is coming soon.
