Repeated $39 charge attempts for GitHub Copilot subscription

Hello,

I have an active GitHub Copilot subscription. As far as I know, the individual Copilot plan is priced at $10 per month.
However, in my billing history, I see that GitHub has been repeatedly attempting to charge $39 USD, and these attempts are marked as Declined. I would like to understand:
Why is $39 USD being charged instead of the standard $10 monthly fee?
Does this amount represent accumulated charges from previous months?
If so, please specify which months and how the total was calculated.
Are there any additional services, plans, or fees (taxes, bundled subscriptions, etc.) included in this charge?
Is there a way to separate or reset the billing so that future charges proceed as a regular monthly $10 payment?
I would appreciate a detailed breakdown of the $39 charge attempt so I can resolve the payment issue correctly.

I'm having the same problem. I opened a ticket. I paid two invoices of $24 and $23, and they still charged me $10 (it doesn't make sense), and they canceled my subscription.

The $39 charge is most likely accumulated unpaid invoices, not the normal $10 Copilot monthly fee. If previous payments failed, GitHub may combine outstanding amounts (including taxes) into one charge attempt.

Check Settings → Billing & Plans → Payment History to see the invoice breakdown.

If it still doesn’t make sense, open a GitHub Support ticket under Billing and request a detailed breakdown of the $39 charge.
