I understand your concern about the unexpected charge. For billing and account-related issues, the best course is to contact GitHub Support directly through the official support channel: https://support.github.com/contact. They can access your account, review the charges, and assist with refunds if appropriate. Please have your account details and invoice information ready. Community members cannot view or modify billing information. I recommend reaching out as soon as possible for a timely resolution. |

Hi,
Thank you for your response. I’ve already raised this issue multiple times via email but have not received any resolution or further guidance. The unexpected charge on my account still remains unaddressed, and I would appreciate it if this could be escalated for review.
Could you please provide a concrete update on the status of this billing discrepancy and let me know the next steps to resolve it?
Thank you for your prompt attention.
Best regards,

Hi there, I understand your concern about the unexpected charge. I took a closer look, and here is exactly what’s going on. Basically, you were billed for two different things at once: your standard $10 for January, plus a separate $23.55 charge for usage back in December. I’d recommend replying to GitHub Support and specifically explaining that the 'Organization Usage' in December was unintentional. If you tell them it was a mistake, you can ask them to refund that extra $23.55. |

From the screenshot, the charge appears to include two separate items:
That’s why the total is $33.55, not just the base $10 subscription. The additional $23.55 suggests usage-based charges beyond the standard Copilot Pro monthly fee. For billing disputes or clarification, only GitHub Support can review the detailed usage logs and issue refunds if applicable: Be sure to include:
Community members can’t access billing data, but support can break down exactly what triggered the usage charge. |

Hi there!
So the higher amount isn’t the price of the Pro plan — it’s the combination of a previous usage invoice plus your new subscription charge on the same billing date. Why does this happens When you start or change a subscription, any unpaid usage from the prior billing period is charged at the same time as the new plan, which can make it look like the monthly price increased. What you can do
Suggested next step Open a billing support ticket and include:
That allows the billing team to investigate quickly. |

Hi I have a similar issue, I purchased copilot pro + on the 13th of Feb and next billing date is the 13 of March. And i have not exceeded my billing requests. but yet i had a bill get debited from my account of $58- the usage bill is from the 1st to the 27th of Feb.- I looks like I'm being double billed- i logged a ticket and still waiting for feedback. surly the logic would be bill me from the 1st to the 13th as thats when i upgraded to the Pro + account. so thats clearly not happening. The rob is if you dont pay, your account is blocked. so if i want to use GitHub i must be double billed for something that is their error. |

I’m following up again regarding the billing issue I raised a few days ago, as I haven’t yet received a response or a resolution.
On 19th January 2026, I was charged $33.85 for my monthly Pro plan, whereas my previous bills show the plan cost as $10 per month. This unexpected higher charge is concerning.
Could you please review this as a priority and let me know why this amount was charged? If this was an error, I would appreciate a refund of the extra amount taken.
Please let me know if you need any additional details from me to investigate this further. I’d appreciate your prompt support on this matter.
