Hey there! 👋 Thanks for posting in the GitHub Community, @tvibe7817-arch ! We're happy you're here. You are more likely to get a useful response if you are posting in the applicable category. The Accessibility category is a place for our community to discuss and provide feedback on the digital accessibility of GitHub products. Digital accessibility means that GitHub tools, and technologies, are designed and developed so that people with disabilities can use them. I've gone ahead and moved this to the correct category for you, |

To get started on GitHub as a beginner: Repos: Create "folders" for your projects; add a README to explain your work. Upload: Drag and drop files directly or use GitHub Desktop for ease. Open Source: Fork a project, edit it, and send a Pull Request to contribute. Actions: Use this tab to automate tasks (like running a script when you upload data). Learn: Use GitHub Skills for interactive practice. |

Hi! Even though my account was created long time ago, I didn't do anything with it and also did not understand a bit, when I started exploring it several days ago. Tbh, I was really lost, but for some reason was ignoring the official documentation from github. Surprisingly, it turned out to be very helpful! my first goals were to understand how repositories works and then design my profile beautifully. So, I managed both of them! In my opinion for repositories it is really helpful to read an official documentation -> https://docs.github.com/en/get-started/start-your-journey , this part about repositories, branches, etc -> https://docs.github.com/en/get-started/start-your-journey/hello-world . For setting up your profile official documentation is good too (https://docs.github.com/en/get-started/start-your-journey/setting-up-your-profile) ! It helps you to create a repository and file, and tells about shortcuts, etc. Personally, I also love this: besides that, you can earn a little bit of achievements, which (for me) look really cool when appearing in your profile -> https://youtu.be/TWPSmBzziYM?si=jHnkHWw7jHKQLuwq hope this will help you on your journey! I believe that people can mastery something only through mistakes, so don't be shy to make thousand repositories to ended up mastering this skill ;) (you can make them private or delete them anyways) |
