You can get the galaxy brain badge by getting a response marked as answer within a repository discussion.
You used to get it from Community discussions but this is no longer the case due to people making alternative accounts and false posts such as yourself

I’m actually using Gemini as a kind of digital version of myself. It’s trained on my info, so you can ask it questions about me. You can try it out by cloning my repo and just swapping in your own content. Hope this helps!

If you go to your repository settings you can allow discussions for a specific repository, when you contribute to a popular project there may be open discussions, if you answer a discussion then you will be closer to getting the galaxy badge

That’s a great question! From what the GitHub Community team mentioned earlier, Achievements and badges inside the Community forum have been disabled due to spam and low-quality farming posts. This means even if your answers are marked as accepted, the “Answer” badge (and other similar Community badges) will no longer be awarded here.

The good news is: this change only applies to the Community site. Achievements and badges in GitHub itself (repositories, contributions, etc.) are still active and unaffected.

So your accepted answers are still valuable and visible to the community — they just won’t trigger badge rewards here anymore.

• In order to get the galaxy brain badge you need to answer as many questions asked in the github community discussions and if atleast 2 of your questions has been accepted as answer by the user who has asked the question you will surely get the badge.
• A quick hack ask two of your friends to post a question answer them and ask them to consider your answer. 😉

Find Eligible Repos: Search GitHub for public repos with Discussions enabled. Look for the "Discussions" tab. Great starters:
Beginner-friendly: freeCodeCamp/freeCodeCamp, TheAlgorithms/Python, public orgs like GSSoC or GirlScript.
Filter: Go to github.com/discussions, select "Q&A" > "Unanswered" or "Newest".

Spot Open Questions: Browse Q&A discussions needing help (e.g., bugs, "how-to" queries). Avoid closed/answered ones.
Craft a Great Answer:
Be accurate, detailed, and polite.
Use code blocks, screenshots, or links.
Example: If it's a Python error, explain the fix + why it works.
Reply directly under the question.

Get It Accepted: Politely ask the author to mark it if helpful (e.g., "Let me know if this solves it!"). It must be them (not you) marking it.
Repeat for 2+: Track progress in your profile > Achievements. Badges appear automatically once thresholds hit.
