It would be nice if we could sunset the old ./configure + makefiles approach. Its not easy to maintain both. If we were using just CMake, there wouldn't be a need to copy an includes.h; we could just have CMake generate it from a template includes.h.in file. |

I guess we could do that right now, but lets maybe leave it in place for a while (few months?) to let people adjust to the new cmake approach. I still have instructionals and videos that show the old installer, so I will likely have to leave it in place and copy over it with your CMake script. |

I was thinking in terms of years. Ultimately, the choice will be decided on how quickly people adopt the 64-bit RPi OS. |

I think this change will make things easier for users, since the CMake installer works on every RPi version.
I've marked the old installer 'Deprecated' as well
