Hi, I’m Muhammad Fareed. I’m currently pursuing an MS in Data Science (4.0/4.0 CGPA) at Riphah International University, and I combine research in medical AI with 7+ years of teaching experience in mathematics.
My research focuses on vision–language models (VLMs) for chest X-ray report generation. For my thesis, I am currently working on a "RAG-based, parameter-efficient fine-tuning VLM" to ground generated chest x-ray reports. The goal is a practical, trustworthy report drafting that reduces workload for radiologists while remaining deployable on modest hardware.
I am the "first author" of two peer-reviewed research articles in prestigious Frontiers' journals and a recipient of the "Vice Chancellor’s Honors Award" for academic excellence. I am comfortable across the full research and engineering stack, from data preprocessing and model development (PyTorch/Hugging Face) to parameter-efficient fine-tuning and clinical validation, and I enjoy turning research ideas into practical, usable tools.
