Purpose of gateway #1

Hi.
This is a really nice library, thanks!!!
I'm studying it but I don't really understand what's the purpose of the Gateway struct. You write
Optionally use a Gateway wrapper or build Channel objects instead of send()
But I don't see a practical case in which this is useful. Also, the example that you provided doesn't tell too much.
What is a use case in which we need to define a Gateway?
