I'm an AI Engineer, Founder, Builder, Educator, and Speaker, and I spend most of my time these days working with Generative AI and Large Language Models. I have experience designing and shipping production-ready systems in the realms of LLM evaluation tools, multi-agent workflows, and user-facing applications.
Most recently I was an AI Engineer at Playful Software, where I built LLM-as-judge systems, human evaluation frameworks, and CLI-based agentic evaluation tooling for AI-developed software. Before that I was a Lead Data Scientist focusing on Generative AI at AlignAI, where I designed and deployed GenAI features like chatbots, assistive agents, and playbook generators into an enterprise platform.
I started in data science before it was even called data science, and I've worked across the whole spectrum of this field. I tend to think in terms of systems, where the models, the people, the infrastructure, and the outcomes are all part of one dynamic whole. I find that I am always learning and that's a major reason why I love this field!

I'm currently Adjunct Faculty in the Master of Applied Data Science program at UNC Chapel Hill's School of Data Science and Society, where I teach Deep Learning (DATA 785), covering everything from CNNs and RNNs to attention, Transformers, and modern LLMs and Agentic AI.
Over the years I've guided thousands of data professionals through full-cycle data science and machine learning projects, including five cohorts as a Lead Instructor with Correlation One's DS4A programs. And some of my students have gone on to data and AI roles at places like LinkedIn, Meta, Google, Apple, Microsoft, IBM, and Spotify.
