While both motors and engines are machines that produce motion, the key difference lies in their energy source: motors run on electricity, while engines run on combustion³⁴.

  • Motor: A device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. It's commonly associated with electric motors found in various appliances, electric vehicles, and other devices that run on electricity¹⁴.

  • Engine: A machine that converts thermal energy produced from combustion into mechanical work. This term is often used for internal combustion engines in vehicles that run on fuel like gasoline or diesel¹³.
