U-Space and FENTISS: A long-term partnership! ✍ We are delighted to announce the signing of a long-term agreement with FENTISS, provider of the XtratuM / Next Generation (XNG) hypervisor, a software solution that has been at the heart of our systems since our inception. While XtratuM is already the beating heart of our flight software, this agreement secures and perpetuates the use of this key technology for all our future constellations. Why is XtratuM the cornerstone of our onboard architecture? The XNG software allows us to apply a strict partitioning strategy within a single onboard computer. In concrete terms, this offers us two key advantages: • Unfailing reliability Thanks to partitioning, any error remains confined and does not spread, ensuring total control of the satellite. • Valuable hardware optimization This architecture ensures a high level of safety without increasing the number of onboard computers, allowing for weight and volume savings without compromising safety. This agreement marks a new stage in our collaboration with this long-standing trusted partner, and we are delighted to be working with them on a long-term basis for both our current products and future developments.

To prevent collisions and monitor abnormal trajectories, leading governments and institutions around the world are working to maintain a complete, accurate and constantly updated picture of all objects in orbit. With SOAP, Airbus is proud to play a key role in this global effort. Thanks to the unique Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) data captured by this satellite, we’re helping our customers build a safer and more sustainable space environment.
