Second day at the Dubai Airshow 2025 🇦🇪 Exotrail continued its discussions with institutional representatives, industry leaders and international partners. These exchanges further confirmed the growing importance of in-orbit mobility solutions in support of the UAE’s expanding ambitions in space operations and orbital logistics. Exotrail dual expertise in electric propulsion and in-orbit services can contribute to a more efficient, resilient and sustainable orbital environment. In particular, logistics-oriented capabilities such as last-mile deployment, hosted payload demonstration and multi-orbit maneuverability can support in the near future Emirati programmes in Earth observation, space operations and technology maturation. As part of the French Space Pavilion (CNES – booth 1705), Exotrail is pleased to partake the fruitful dialogue between France and the UAE on space activities. We thank delegations and partners for the quality of the conversations and look forward to continuing these engagements throughout the show.

Building the future of space logistics between France 🇫🇷 and Korea 🇰🇷 Last week, Exotrail was honored to partake the 5th Korea-France Space Forum, co-organized by the Korean agencies #KASA and #KARI, with French agency CNES, in Seoul. Our Chief of staff and VP Public Affairs, Maxime Jambon, had the occasion to recall our vision of space mobility at the service of next-generation orbital infrastructures, and highlighted Exotrail’s growing cooperation with the Korean space ecosystem — from our first customer, Satrec Initiative Co., Ltd., to new opportunities in propulsion and in-orbit services. As both countries strengthen their space partnership, Exotrail aims to be part of this dynamic — particularly as France and Korea prepare to celebrate 140 years of diplomatic relations in 2026.

🌍 This week, Cécile Gaubert, Maxime Jambon, and our CEO Jean-Luc Maria had the pleasure of representing Exotrail at the 7th Space Sustainability Summit, organized in Paris by the Secure World Foundation. The summit brought together the entire space ecosystem around a key question: how can we ensure the long-term sustainability of our activities in space? Our CEO took part in the panel “REAL OR NOT REAL? WHAT TECHNOLOGIES ARE TRULY CRITICAL TO ENSURE LONG-TERM SPACE SUSTAINABILITY” moderated by Krystal Azelton, a deep and unfiltered discussion on the technologies and concrete approaches needed to build a responsible and secure space future (➡️ see the link in the first comment). At Exotrail, sustainability lies at the heart of our mission: “Delivering mobility capabilities for a secure and sustainable space.” 🚀 A big thank you to the organizers and all participants for the insights and discussions. 🌌 #SpaceSustainability #SpaceSecurity #Innovation #SustainableFuture CNES European Space Agency - ESA European Commission United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA)

Exotrail a republié ceci
I had the chance to participate this week in the 7th Space Sustainability Summit, organized by the Secure World Foundation, where I joined the panel titled: “REAL OR NOT REAL? WHAT TECHNOLOGIES ARE TRULY CRITICAL TO ENSURE LONG-TERM SPACE SUSTAINABILITY.” During the discussion, I highlighted that true space sustainability will only be possible if we master and democratize three core technological pillars: 1️⃣ Space Situational Awareness (SSA) – Understanding our orbital environment and all active and inactive objects in it. 2️⃣ Propulsion – Enabling every object sent into orbit to maneuver efficiently, to avoid collisions and deorbit safely at end of life. 3️⃣ Autonomous proximity operations and docking – Rethinking how we design and operate space systems to enable in-orbit servicing, assembly, and recycling. The true Game Changer for the years to come. SSA is progressing rapidly, propulsion technologies are close to reach maturity — but the third pillar is still being written. It’s where our collective effort should now focus. Beyond the technology itself, I also emphasized the need to balance technological ambition with industrial reality. Many of the companies capable of miniaturizing and making these technologies cost-effective are indeed young and agile players. Their maturation will take time and requires support through in-orbit demonstrations, a dynamic that is fortunately already underway. Also through long-run fundings taylored to their maturity level. At the same time, these companies must also serve the emerging commercial demand for in-orbit services, from hosted payload demonstrations to in-space delivery, which act as essential stepping stones toward full technological maturity. That is exactly what we are doing today at Exotrail, but with this third pillar as an end goal in mind. Finally, I underlined that today’s ecosystem is heavily influenced by defense-driven opportunities, guided by new doctrines such as “speed over perfection” and “iterate to dominate.” As companies, we naturally go where opportunities lie, but this raises an important question: how do we reconcile this short-term urgency of defense needs with the long-term vision of space sustainability? Quite a paradox. That’s the balance we must collectively strike if we want space to remain a sustainable domain for generations to come. Thanks Ministère de l’Économie, des Finances et de la Souveraineté industrielle et numérique for hosting this Summit. Thanks all the panelists from industry and agencies for the insights and the debate Audrey Schaffer (Slingshot Aerospace), Muriel Hooghe (Luxembourg Space Agency), Josef Koller, Ph.D. (Amazon Project Kuiper), Philippe Pham (Airbus Defence and Space) and Quentin Verspieren (European Space Agency - ESA). Last but not the least, thanks Krystal Azelton for your perfect moderation. #SWFsummit25 CNES European Space Agency - ESA European Commission United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA)
