Ceramic tiles may look simple, but what’s beneath the surface tells a much more technical story. 🧪 At Imerys, we work with a carefully engineered blend of natural minerals—each playing a specific role in enhancing tile quality and performance: ✅ Ball Clay – Provides essential plasticity, making the clay body easy to shape without cracking. It also contributes to mechanical strength, helping tiles resist breakage. ✅ Kaolin – A highly refined clay that adds whiteness and thermal stability, critical for clean, bright finishes and consistent firing results. ✅ Feldspar – Acts as a natural flux, lowering the melting point during firing to improve glaze adhesion and reduce energy consumption. ✅ Sustainably Sourced Minerals – At Imerys, we prioritize responsible mining practices that reduce environmental impact without compromising on quality—helping you meet growing demand for eco-conscious tile production. 🌱 Interested to learn more? Big step forward in our decarbonization journey in the US! We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve signed an important 15-year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement with renewable energy provider, Akuo, to power our U.S. operations with 153 GWh of renewable electricity annually. ☀️Starting in 2026, our supplier’s solar park that will be located in Coke County, Texas, will cover around 30% of our electricity needs in the U.S.     What does this mean?   ✅ Imerys’ U.S. operations will reduce their GHG emissions by about 67,000 tons of CO₂ annually (vs. 2021 baseline) ✅ This translates to cutting our Group-wide GHG emissions by 3% Power Purchase Agreements like this one are a key pillar of our climate transition roadmap, which targets a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 (vs. 2021 levels) — in alignment with the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.   🔗 Learn more: https://bit.ly/3RGbrxe

💧 11% of river waters are significantly affected by discharges of urban wastewater. 💧 Luckily, minerals can contribute to creating cleaner, safer water. Bentonite, a volcanic clay rock, is malleable and highly absorbent—and at Imerys, we’ve harnessed its natural properties to develop ImerPure B, a bentonite-based solution that helps clarify municipal and industrial wastewater. How does it work? Take a look below and learn more:  Learn more: https://bit.ly/3YcK95f

🌿 When our impacts on nature cannot be totally avoided, reduced or restored, we move on to the ultimate stage: offset. This means compensating for the residual, unavoidable impact on biodiversity caused by our activities. Take a look at what that looks like in action 👇 From wetland creation to habitat restoration, these are just a few of the ways we’re working to leave a positive legacy for nature — even where impacts can’t be fully avoided. 🔗 Learn more about how we offset and our target of no net loss of biodiversity: https://bit.ly/3Gen6AY

Here’s something you may have not known about: humans have been using glue for thousands of years, all the way back to the ancient Egyptians, who used glue in woodworking, jewelry, coffins, mummification, and even boat building. Fast forward to today, and adhesives and sealants have come a long way—now strengthened and enhanced by mineral-based additives. From windows to car engines, minerals are making adhesives stronger, and more sustainable. ✨ What minerals do: 🟢 Calcium carbonate – Improves strength, flexibility & cost-efficiency 🟢 Mica – Adds barrier protection & prevents sagging 🟢 Wollastonite – Boosts durability & structural integrity 💡 Why it matters: Better-performing adhesives = longer-lasting products = less waste. 🔎 Want to see how mineral solutions can elevate your formulations? Visit us on April 15 at the ASC Convention & Expo, Booth 202. Can’t make it? Restoring biodiversity on our quarries is a key part of how we reduce our impact on nature. How do we do this? Each site is different, so our approach is always tailored to local conditions and activities: 🌿 In Milos, Greece, we recreate ecosystems by planting endemic species that can thrive in the harsh island’s conditions and by enriching the soil to support long-term growth. 🌲 In Rabenwald, Austria, we worked with experts to ensure that the local species we select are adapted to the climate and have planted over 12,000 trees in the last couple of years. 🌳 In Cornwall, UK, we’ve transformed centuries-old mining landscapes into thriving habitats—with over 1.8 million trees and a 40km public trail for locals and visitors to explore the restored landscapes. 💡 Learn more about our restoration efforts across the globe:https://bit.ly/4idf48F

✨Soft, silky, creamy ✨ - What makes make-up powders feel so good on your skin? The answer is minerals. And in particular a mineral called mica. Thanks to its lamellar structure, mica improves cohesion in pressed powders, while its ability to absorb oil gives make-up powders their long-lasting matte effect. At Imerys, we’ve refined this mineral into ImerCare® MicaSilk - a 100% natural, French-sourced mica that has a ‘talc-like’ soft and creamy texture. A little mineral science goes a long way in beauty. Want to learn more? Meet us at in-cosmetics from April 8-10 (booth 5A100) to learn more about our latest innovation for the cosmetics market. Can’t make it?
