Over 10,000 pieces of flame retardant workwear donated to Ukraine 💙💛 Throughout 2024 and 2025, Hydro has donated more than 10,000 flame retardant jackets and trousers to fire and rescue services in Ukraine. The photos you see here show employees at Sogn Vekst in Årdal preparing the workwear for reuse and the local initiators for the project in Årdal. 👕📦 The initiative is the result of close collaboration between Hydro’s Norwegian aluminium plants and local businesses i Årdal, ensuring that high‑quality protective workwear gets a second life where it is needed most. The equipment has been transported by the humanitarian organization Norwegian-Ukrainian Fire and Ambulance Support (NUBAS), helping ensure the garments reach emergency responders working under extremely demanding conditions. In total, 5,855 jackets and 4,960 flame retardant pants have been sent from Hydro's Norwegian aluminium plants in Årdal, Sunndal, Karmøy, Husnes, and Høyanger to Ukraine. We are grateful to all colleagues and partners who have contributed to this effort — and proud that workwear that once protected our own employees can now help protect others during very challenging times. Curious about the world’s most versatile metal? Here are a couple of facts that might change how you see aluminium. The self-healing shield: Aluminium protects itself. When exposed to air, it creates a microscopic oxide layer that acts as a shield against corrosion. If scratched, the layer instantly reforms - essentially "healing" itself. 🛡️ Endless shapes: Through extrusion, we can push aluminium through a die like toothpaste to create complex, lightweight profiles. This flexibility allows us to replace multiple parts with one single, stronger shape. 💡 Do you have a favorite aluminium curiosity?

Hydro delivered a solid Q4 performance and an adjusted EBITDA of NOK 28.9 billion with strong free cash flow in 2025, despite a challenging market environment. In an interview with CNBC International's Carolin Roth, our CFO Trond Olaf Christophersen discusses how Hydro is positioning for the long-term while navigating tariff uncertainty and geopolitical tensions. The conversation touches on the U.S. market and dynamics, the potential impact of tariff changes and a continued demand for low-carbon aluminium solutions from our customers. “Although sustainability seems somewhat less in focus at least in the news, it’s still a clear trend with our customers; they seem to maintain their sustainability targets and are eager to continue to improve their products," says Christophersen. 🔗 Watch the full interview here 👉 https://lnkd.in/e5y9QXaM

Hydro is expanding its support for the TerPaz community program in the State of Pará with new Usina da Paz community centers in Barcarena and Paragominas! 🤝🏥 The Usina da Paz centers offer health services, vocational training, sports, legal assistance and social development opportunities in inclusive spaces designed to serve thousands of residents every year. Together with our partners, we support facilities across Pará, including in Barcarena, Paragominas, Belém, Moju and Tomé-Açu. 📍 “Hydro is committed to strengthening the resilience and opportunities of communities in the regions where we operate. The TerPaz program and Usina da Paz community centers are a strong example of the positive outcomes that can be achieved when industry and government work together to promote social development,” says John Thuestad, Executive Vice President for Hydro Bauxite & Alumina. These investments are part of Hydro’s broader efforts to support long-term, sustainable development in Pará, where we operate bauxite mining in Paragominas, alumina refining at Alunorte and aluminium production through the Albras joint venture. 🔗 Link to read more in the comments!

The EU's Carbon Border Adjusment Mechanism (#CBAM) implementation is now exposing where design choices matter most. In a recent podcast hosted by Enlit Europe, Jostein Røynesdal (Hydro) joins Helene Lavray (Dow) to unpack the mechanism beyond the theory: where implementation is getting complex, and where design choices risk unintended consequences. For aluminium, two issues remain absolutely critical: 🔹 Fully close the scrap loophole: all aluminium scrap used in CBAM goods must be brought into scope to avoid circumvention and an uneven playing field. 🔹 Keep indirect emissions out of scope: including them would raise costs in Europe without levelling the global playing field, increasing the risk of carbon and industrial leakage. 🎧 Listen here: https://lnkd.in/eAAJmnin
