What does the future of crewed-uncrewed teaming look like in action? We’re looking back at our pioneering demonstration in Singapore, where the Airbus Flexrotor uncrewed aerial system (UAS) teamed with a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) H225M using our HTeaming system. Through a specialised data-link architecture, the HTeaming solution enabled the RSAF’s helicopter crew to securely receive and process real-time data from the Flexrotor UAS. During a simulated search and rescue mission, the crew successfully took direct command and control of the UAS, gathering real-time data, extending their visual range, and enhancing mission safety. Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA) Programme Manager Lim Jiaxu calls it a "game changer for more dynamic operations," noting that it significantly enhances mission effectiveness. By integrating real-time data directly into the cockpit, we are ensuring our pilots can act faster when every second counts. The Czech Ministry of Interior and Airbus Helicopters have signed a contract for 11 five-bladed H145 helicopters, marking a significant milestone in the modernisation of the Czech Republic’s public safety infrastructure. These state-of-the-art multi-role aircraft will be operated by the Czech Police Aviation Service, serving as the backbone of its fleet for law enforcement, search and rescue, and emergency medical missions. The comprehensive agreement encompasses not only the delivery of the helicopters but also an extensive training and logistics package to ensure seamless operational integration. The Czech Police Aviation Service is a long-standing operator of Airbus products, currently utilising a fleet that includes nine H135 family helicopters. This fleet will be replaced by the five-bladed H145, which will significantly enhance their tactical range and lifting capacity while streamlining maintenance through advanced digital systems. Successful multi-domain operations require real-time data sharing between air and sea assets to access critical information from areas far beyond a ship's own sensor range. Airbus Helicopters and the Spanish Navy recently completed tactical flight trials in Rota to validate this multi-domain connectivity. The exercise integrated the offshore patrol vessel Rayo with an H135 helicopter and two uncrewed aerial systems, the Airbus Flexrotor and Alpha Unmanned Systems´ A900. By using the HTeaming tablet, a pilot aboard the H135 managed the drones to track a high-speed target and transmit live footage directly to the ship’s combat station. This collaboration between Airbus, Navantia, and Alpha Unmanned Systems demonstrates a commitment to providing European defence technology that extends sensor ranges and enhances situational awareness for naval forces.
