ZBrush/3D-Coat style viewport navigation for Blender 5.0+
Navigate on empty canvas space, sculpt/paint on mesh - seamless pen tablet workflow without needing middle mouse button.
Features
- Canvas Navigation: Click empty space to orbit, Shift+click to pan, click mesh to sculpt/paint
- RMB Navigation: Right-click drag for dolly (vertical) and roll (horizontal)
- Dedicated Roll: Customizable keybinding for view roll (default: Shift+Alt+LMB)
- Brush Adjustment: Visual ring feedback when adjusting brush size and strength
- Double-click Focus: Frame selected objects by double-clicking empty space
- Safety Border: Configurable border zone that always triggers navigation
- Customizable Keybindings: Configure mouse buttons and modifiers in preferences
Installation
- Download the latest release
- In Blender, go to Edit > Preferences > Add-ons
- Click Install from Disk and select the downloaded zip file
- Enable the addon by checking the checkbox
Usage
Once enabled, the addon activates automatically in supported modes:

Configuration
Access preferences via Edit > Preferences > Add-ons > SculptNavigation
- Canvas Navigation: Enable/disable LMB and RMB navigation
- Gesture Controls: Toggle individual gestures (orbit, pan, dolly, roll, etc.)
- Enabled Modes: Choose which modes the addon is active in
- Navigation Border: Set safe zones that always trigger navigation
- Orbit/Dolly/Roll: Adjust sensitivity and invert axes
- Brush Adjustment: Customize visual feedback ring
- Pass-Through Objects: Choose which object types to ignore
- Keybindings: Customize mouse buttons and modifiers

Hollllllly cow! Yeah, really wanted something like this without any excess features that I didnt really care for and really love you can select when the controls/etc are active in specified modes modes. only played with it for a few second but def got me excited to actually be able to sculpt comfortably in Blender
