  • Web Traffic Analysis 🌐 Why does it matter? 💡 Understand who's visiting your website and making purchases – and who isn't 💡 Identify gaps and opportunities BEFORE making your investment 💡 Track performance, make tweaks and maximise your returns When you work with us, we can perform a full analysis of your web traffic data (including country data, browser language preference and more) to understand the bigger picture. This can tell us things about interest and obstacles that we can then use to design a solid, data-driven localisation strategy. What's more, by following the numbers, we can make sure that everything is working exactly as it should, and make changes to improve results. Read more here: https://buff.ly/Rv2eJDc

  • Nordic Word of the Week: Bunad 🇳🇴 Norwegian Constitution Day was earlier this month on 17 May, and that meant bounds abound all across the length and breadth of the country. The bunad is Norway’s traditional national dress, inspired by regional folk clothing worn by rural communities in earlier centuries. Modern bunads emerged during the 19th-century rise of Norwegian nationalism, when local peasant traditions, embroidery and craftsmanship were elevated into symbols of national identity. More than a costume, the bunad represents a deep connection to ancestry, landscape, and regional belonging. There are 450 varieties of bunad and each individual garment is unique and adorned with both local and personal flourishes. Yet as a whole, the garment represents national unity and helps to bring people together across all different backgrounds, genders and identities, from city to country and forest to fjord. And in 2026, bunad culture only continues to evolve with many influencers sharing fun videos about how bunads transform the Norwegian personality and seem to justify their dizzingly high prices, despite being seldom worn. • Every culture has its moonshine – and in Scandinavia, the most common equivalents are aquavit and hjemmebrændt. 🌕️ The word aquavit comes from the Latin aqua vitae, meaning 'water of life', while hjemmebrændt literally means 'home-burned' or 'home-distilled'. Both are deeply tied to Nordic history and culture. 🍸️ Long winters, isolated rural communities, and historically strict alcohol regulations helped shape strong traditions around homemade and locally flavoured spirits. In different parts of the Nordics, recipes might include caraway, dill, spruce shoots, cloudberries, herbs – and sometimes much stranger ingredients. In northern Sweden and parts of Finland, for instance, some traditional recipes were even infused with beaver castoreum – a substance from the animal’s scent glands once used in traditional medicine and flavouring. This creates a drink known as Bäverhojt or beaver shout. As you can imagine, the taste is quite distinctive! 😵 These practices and variants are a nice reminder that food and drink traditions are never just about taste. They reflect climate, geography, survival, and local identity – and the Nordics have some of the most distinctive examples in the world. • Did you know Iceland is one of only a few European countries not to have a McDonald's? 🇮🇸🍔 But it wasn't always that way – the chain did operate in Iceland between the early 1990s and 2009, when a devalued krona killed off the American dream in Iceland forever. Since then, the country has kept the final meal sold on the island in a museum display and gone on to thrive without the golden arches on its national territory. In our latest blog article, we ask what the last McDonald's in Iceland can tell us about Nordic exceptionalism, and what does it teach us about doing business in this propsperous and modern yet stubbornly unique Nordic nation.
