Hi GoingBatty! I submitted edit request through the talk page 5 days ago and haven't had any response. Can you please give some pointers on how to get the edits implemented? --Mel.in.sd (talk) 16:49, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Mel.in.sd: Hi there! I added
{{edit COI}}to Talk:Allison Maslan#Update request to give your request more visibility. Note that the template currently states "The requested edits backlog is very high. Please be extremely patient. There are currently 383 requests waiting for review." - If you choose to post in the future, I suggest making one small request at a time. Some editors may see 6,000 characters and feel overwhelmed. Question from Harananda Loukrakpam (10:13, 18 March 2026)
[edit]Hello, I’m new here and would like some guidance on citations. If I can’t find a reference or a link for a topic on Wikipedia, what is the recommended approach? Should I search for reliable sources elsewhere, or is there another preferred method? --Harananda Loukrakpam (talk) 10:13, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Harananda Loukrakpam: Hi there! I suggest reviewing Help:Your first article, which reminds us that "All new articles start by researching a topic using high-quality, published sources." If you can't find sufficient reliable sources, then my suggestion would be to not write the article. However, you could request assistance from other editors to help you find sources, for example, on the appropriate WikiProject's talk page. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 21:08, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thank-you for your reply. I'm not that confident with research and sourcing materials so I'll stick to small minor edits for the time being . Thank-you. Harananda Loukrakpam (talk) 08:06, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
Hello GoingBatty
[edit]Nice to meet you.
I am happy that we get this support from Wikipedians. I have to admit, I am finding it frustrating trying to harmonize the needs of the platform and the oral history nature of Indigenous peoples. Harder to find published articles on some of the seed savers and farmers that I so desperately want the world to know about. Candy Noblesse TeprinB (talk). 12:41, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
- @TeprinB: Hi there. I agree that it could be frustrating to create a well-sourced article about oral history of indigenous people. You could try working with more experienced editors in that subject area (e.g. Wikipedia:WikiProject Indigenous peoples of North America). Good luck with your course and happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 21:12, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
How can I edit in wikipedia? And what is exactly editing?? --Ayume Rei (talk) 12:20, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Ayume Rei: Hi there! Editing is the act of creating or changing a page on Wikipedia. Your post asking me these questions is a form of editing, but most people think of editing in the context of creating or updating the 7+ million articles on Wikipedia. To get started, I suggest reviewing Help:Introduction. You could even try The Wikipedia Adventure, a guided tutorial that is intended to help users understand more about Wikipedia while learning how to edit. Hope this helps, and happy editing! Question from Blaq master (10:02, 22 March 2026)
[edit]Is it possible that i right something new instead of editing one's work --Blaq master (talk) 10:02, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Blaq master: Hi there. Yes, it's possible to write something new, but it's a challenging endeavor. There's plenty of information for you at Help:Your first article. GoingBatty (talk) 15:13, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
Blaq master
[edit]blaq master is an upcoming musician with a lot of talent and charisma Blaq master (talk) 10:05, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Blaq master: Wikipedia contains encyclopedia articles about people that have been covered in published reliable sources. It is not a place to advertise upcoming musicians, even those who are talented. Please review the notability criteria for musicians at WP:MUSICBIO before writing. Question from MarinaMals (23:21, 23 March 2026)
[edit]Здравствуйте 🩷 хочу создать статью о артистке. Помогите . Текст уже составила. Как опубликовать,чтобы в поиске было видно) --MarinaMals (talk) 23:21, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
- @MarinaMals: Hi there! I see the text you posted on User:MarinaMals. Here on the English Wikipedia, articles (and user talk messages) should be written in English. Wikipedia contains encyclopedia articles about people that have been covered in published reliable sources, and I don't see any sources cited in your text. There's plenty of good information for you at Help:Your first article on gathering sources, citing sources, and publishing a draft article for review. GoingBatty (talk) 23:33, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
Hi, I am contributing via Citation Hunt. The snippets typically include multiple sentences, with only one sentence having the superscript "citation needed." To clarify, just that one sentence with the superscript requires a citation? --Apperson1 (talk) 19:39, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Apperson1: Hi there! Thank you for introducing me to Citation Hunt. You'll have to read the sentences and the source citation you add and make a determination whether your citation is sufficient or whether additional citations will be necessary. For example, if you were to work on this snippet served up by Citation Hunt, you might find one source to cover the facts of all four sentences. Or, you might find a source to cover "B-doubles are very common in all parts of Australia" but not the technical specifications, in which case additional
{{citation needed}}templates might be warranted. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 23:39, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
Question from Cheesecake llama (20:28, 27 March 2026)
[edit]Hello! I have a question about WIL Research Laboratories. The "suggested edits" tool suggested reviewing the tone of the paragraph under WIL Research Laboratories § Global leadership in developmental and reproductive toxicology. I noticed a few concerns, some of which supersede the others, so I wasn't exactly sure what to do.
1. The reference [3] does not support the claims made in both locations where it's used in the article.
2. The link is also broken. Here's the correct one. I'm not sure it warrants fixing since it seems irrelevant to the claims in the article.
3. The other claim referenced by that source is at the end of the lead: "WIL Research was well-known internationally in many disciplines, and considered by many industry experts to be the premier laboratory in the world for developmental and reproductive toxicology (DART)." I'm not sure if this needs a "citation needed", whether the weasel words "well-known internationally ... considered by many industry experts" should be called out, and/or the puffery ("premier laboratory") should be called out, or if the sentence should just be removed entirely.
4. In general, the article reads like an advertisement.
5. More broadly, I'm unclear on how to handle unattributed (or misattributed) claims--whether to search for supportive sourcing (isn't this a micro version of WP:BACKWARD?), or to append a "citation needed" tag, or to simply remove the claim.
Sorry for the barrage of questions, but I'd greatly appreciate your experienced viewpoint. Thank you! --Cheesecake llama (talk) 20:28, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Cheesecake llama: Hi there! I wonder why the Suggested edits tool suggested you review the tone of that paragraph.
- 2. I suggest fixing the broken link, as it might be helpful somewhere else in the article.
- 1. You can add the
{{failed verification}}template after the footnote. - 3. Feel free to update the sentence or add the
{{failed verification}}template after the footnote. - 4. Feel free to update the article or add the
{{promotional}}template to the top of the article. - 5. Feel free to search for sources or add
{{citation needed}}templates. - I also suggest you post all these concerns on Talk:WIL Research Laboratories and
{{ping}}the editors who have made significant contributions to the article. Hope this helps, and happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 20:57, 27 March 2026 (UTC)- That's very helpful! Thanks for the prompt reply. Cheesecake llama (talk) 21:05, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- Looking into this further, it looks like WIL Research Laboratories was created and an overwhelming majority of the edits made by Telestic, who also created Joseph F. Holson, the former president of WIL. This user's edits are almost exclusively on these two topics, the most recent of which was attempting to remove information on very serious criminal charges. Just from the content, it's clear that Telestic is Joseph F. Holson and there are WP:COI issues here.
- I'm not sure how to proceed. Is this something administrators should handle? Cheesecake llama (talk) 21:48, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Cheesecake llama: You could add
{{COI}}to both articles and add{{connected contributor}}to both article talk pages. GoingBatty (talk) 23:41, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Cheesecake llama: You could add
Question from MELCHORA V ABONAL (20:05, 29 March 2026)
[edit]How to publish a journal article? --MELCHORA V ABONAL (talk) 20:05, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- @MELCHORA V ABONAL: Hi there! If the journal meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion at Wikipedia:Notability (academic journals), then follow the instructions at Help:Your first article. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 20:07, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
Battle of Karpenisi
[edit]Before reverting changes, please read the "talk" page and verify the page sources for accuracy regarding the information claimed on the page. The author of the book cited as a source is not an expert in the field, is not a historian or scholar, and the information presented in their book is pure fabrication. AvsinKasik (talk) 22:39, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- @AvsinKasik: Hi there! Before adding text to an article, please be sure you're not doing it in the middle of reference that generates a red reference error, as you did here, here, here, and here. Instead of using the text "(Disputed)", I suggest using
{{disputed inline}}or another inline template. - While it's fine to post on an article talk page as you did on Talk:Battle of Karpenisi, please be sure to add a header when starting a new section.
- While it's fine to post on a user talk page, please do not post on a user page, as you did FIVE times on User:CorvusSaber. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 23:00, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- I will continue to mark all disputed, unsourced information in the text as "disputed." Until you undo my edits or give me advice here, please ask the original authors for the source I claim is disputed in the entry. The information in this entry is fabricated. The book cited as a source is by an English author with no academic qualifications, whose affiliation is unclear, and who, strangely enough, is only known to Greeks. Ironic and comic. If we want a better and more realistic "free encyclopedia," we should side with those who doubt the information in the entries, not with those who fabricate entries. I will continue to mark this and all similar entries with "fabricated sources." Have a good patrol. AvsinKasik (talk) 23:07, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- @AvsinKasik: I support you PROPERLY marking disputed, unsourced information in articles and engaging in conversations on article talk pages and user talk pages. I added a welcome message to your user talk page with information about Wikipedia's policies and procedures. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 23:27, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- I also PROPERLY REPLY you. Before reverted my claims and editings please check "sources". Have a good editing. AvsinKasik (talk) 23:30, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

Not Need Advice
[edit]I don't need your mandate advice disguised behind a mask of politeness. Instead of reverting changes, be a good patrol/editor and review the sources on the pages. Delete fabricated pages. If you don't, you'll be contributing to making a place like Wikipedia, where hundreds of thousands of people work day and night, appear "unreliable" because of a few liars. You should spend your valuable time checking (disputed) pages and sources, instead of sending copy-paste welcome messages to me and other writers like me. AvsinKasik (talk) 23:27, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- @AvsinKasik: I will not be attempting to track down a book written in a language I cannot read. It's wonderful that you want to improve these articles. I choose to spend my time to improve articles in other ways, such as removing errors. I hope editors who are knowledgeable in the areas where your passions are will eventually provide detailed responses to your concerns. GoingBatty (talk) 23:33, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- I demanded it from oroginal authors. We are in AI era. If we reach original text I translate it from Greek. I also some friends in wiki can read Greek. But I assume that all sources fabricated or not have reference. For example in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naousa_massacre page there is a firman listed "The order about Negush (Naousa) rebellion" I can read Ottoman Script (learned from Marmara University in İstanbul), this document contains only general information about not clear issue, not mentioned Naousa and etc. AvsinKasik (talk) 23:45, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
Preparation for April Fools deletion request
[edit]Hi again! I'd like to make a joke April Fool's Day deletion request, but I'm not familiar with how I should do it or how to do normal deletion requests. How should I do this prank without actually disrupting anything? AnnoDommini2025 (talk) 18:49, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
