Veteran Editor III

My Wiki account became an adult this month.

It's been 18 years since I made the account in January 2007.

I had made a couple of edits anonomously before then,

but January 2007 was when I decided to finally officially join in.

Thanks for a great 18 years everyone !!!

2007-2019

One of first major contributions I made was creating the archive search boxes and code in 2009.
After a small edit to my trial template deleted the whole Manchester Project archives, I was thoroughly dejected and panicking.
Malleus Fatuorum, or Eric Corbett as he would later be known, was one of the three people who calmed me down and made me feel OK to carry on and finish the task. I had never interacted with him before.
His kindness made a truly positive impression on me - For such a great editor to bother talking to a noob who broke stuff was a kindness I will never forget.
I say noob, but I place this tombstone here as MF joined the same year I did, he was just so much more prolific than I ever was.
Like him or love him, he made a massive difference to Wikipedia

My favourite own quote was after a couple of hours of fixing dodgy English in articles:
