Acquisition by AOL
[edit]The article mentions that AOL bought About.me for only 1.3 million US Dollars. This is far from correct. Please read the annual report of 2010. It states:
"In December 2010, we completed the acquisitions of Pictela and About.me for $31.4 million in the aggregate, net of cash acquired. In addition, we have agreed to pay an aggregate of $11.5 million to certain employees of the acquired companies over the next three years contingent on their future service to AOL. This $11.5 million of contingent consideration will be treated as compensation expense for accounting purposes."

platform is now an "ai twin"
[edit]the purpose and function of the page is no longer as the article here describes. requires update to reflect its now a site to make an "ai twin" which I am unsure what that even means. i refuse to use ai for ethical reasons that aren't relevant here but as a result i can't give any more info. visit the url you'll see though ~2026-21591-80 (talk) 18:17, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
