On August 1, 2026, an unidentified woman was seen attempting to enter a private event at Balzi Rossi Italian restaurant in Kudrinkskaya Square in Moscow, Russia with an improvised explosive device concealed within a giftbox. The homemade bomb was packed with ball bearings intended to act as shrapnel and had the force of a kilogram of TNT.[1] The woman seemingly was not aware of the box's contents and approached a guard at which the bomb detonated.[1] The woman carrying the bomb, a security guard and a customer were killed[2] and 21 were injured.
