This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of 20 students from Jade Hochschule University to our office! We shared how we’re building Portchain, talked about developing software for the container shipping industry, and gave a live demo of Portchain Connect and Portchain Quay. We also discussed what it’s like to work in a scale-up environment, including the challenges and opportunities that come with it. We wrapped up with coffee, pastries, and great conversations. Thank you for visiting us, Katharina Renken and Christian Jauernig. It was great having you here! Jonas Warming

  • 📡 Sailing Predictor in Portchain Connect Our Sailing Predictor helps berth planners answer a key question early: is the plan feasible? By turning large-scale AIS data into continuously updated sailing forecasts, teams gain visibility into how vessels are actually expected to sail, not just static ETAs. 🚢 This enables earlier detection of risks, such as delays or unrealistic arrival plans, and supports proactive adjustments before issues escalate. 🗺️ With alerts and frequent updates, teams can reduce last-minute replanning and maintain more stable, reliable berth schedules.
