My name is Luca Gubler, and I am a Cisco Certified DevNet Expert #20230004.

I was one of the first people worldwide to pass the DevNet Expert lab exam (now called CCIE Automation). After passing the exam, I created DevNet Academy because I wanted to build the training resource I wished existed when I was preparing myself.

My background is not only theoretical. I work with real production network automation. I have experience building automation workflows for infrastructure, monitoring, configuration management, and large-scale router environments.

This background helped me pass the CCIE Automation lab exam, because I already have the experience working with network automation in production.

My goal is to help you prepare for the exam while also building practical skills you can use after the certification.

I love teaching and it has always been a passion of mine. During my bachelor degree, I worked part-time at a high school. As part of my bachelor’s thesis, we developed an e-learning platform. I have always enjoyed running workshops and teaching others at work. So it made perfect sense for me to create this e-learning platform.

Choose the Full Course if you are comfortable studying independently and mainly need a clear structure, lessons, labs, exercises, quizzes, and workbook tasks.

Choose the Full Course with Mentoring if you want personal guidance, feedback, and support during your preparation.

The mentoring option is best if you want help identifying weak areas, planning your study path, preparing for the lab attempt, or getting feedback on workbook tasks.

What happens during mentoring?

Depending on where you are in your preparation, mentoring can include study planning, weak-area review, workbook feedback, exam strategy, pre-exam preparation, and guidance after an exam attempt.

What if I already failed the CCIE Automation / DevNet Expert lab?

That is completely fine!

Many CCIE candidates need more than one attempt. If you already took the lab, mentoring can help you review your preparation, identify weak areas, and create a more focused plan for your next attempt.

You do not need to start from zero. The goal is to use your previous attempt as useful feedback.

How much time should I plan for preparation?

That depends on your current experience with Python, APIs, Ansible, CI/CD, NetBox, pyATS, containers, and network automation workflows.

Most candidates should expect this to be a serious project that requires several months of studying

Do I need to be a software developer?

No.

The Full Course includes a CML lab topology that helps you practice in a realistic environment.
