Preparing for CCIE Automation Is Hard When You Do It Alone
The CCIE Automation lab is not an exam you pass by watching random videos or reading documentation without a plan.
You need to understand Python, APIs, Ansible, CI/CD, pyATS, model-driven telemetry, containers, security, and so much more.
But the real challenge is not only the technology. The real challenge is knowing:
- What to study first
- How deep to go into each topic
- How to practice with realistic labs
- How to translate the blueprint items into actual study items
- How to know when you are actually ready for the lab
That is why I built DevNet Academy as a structured preparation path!
The Training I Wish Existed When I Prepared for the Exam
When I prepared for the DevNet Expert (now CCIE Automation) lab myself, there was no complete e-learning that guided me through the exam topics.
So after I passed, I created the training I wished I had.
DevNet Academy is designed to help you prepare with a clear structure, practical exercises, and direct support when you get stuck.
You do not need to figure everything out alone. You get a complete path. And you get hands-on practice.
And if you choose the mentoring option, you get personal guidance from someone who has already gone through the same process that you go through now.
The Premium CCIE Automation Path: Full Course + Mentoring
If you are serious about passing the CCIE Automation lab, the mentoring option is the strongest path.
The full course gives you the structure and content. Mentoring gives you personal guidance.
Together, they help you avoid one of the biggest problems in the CCIE certification preparation: studying for months without knowing whether you are focusing on the right things.
With mentoring, you get direct support from Luca Gubler (DevNet Expert #20230004 | CCIE 70063).
Mentoring helps you with:
- Understanding where you currently stand
- Identifying weak areas
- Getting feedback on workbook tasks
- Preparing for the lab attempt
- Planning your final study phase
- Staying motivated during a difficult preparation journey
- Learning from someone who has already passed the exam
This is the best option if you want more than content. It is for candidates who want structure, accountability, and direct expert support.

DevNet Academy by the Numbers
Why Learn from Luca?
My name is Luca Gubler, and I am a Cisco Certified DevNet Expert #20230004.
I was one of the first people worldwide to pass the DevNet Expert lab exam (now called CCIE Automation). After passing the exam, I created DevNet Academy because I wanted to build the training resource I wished existed when I was preparing myself.
My background is not only theoretical. I work with real production network automation. I have experience building automation workflows for infrastructure, monitoring, configuration management, and large-scale router environments.
This background helped me pass the CCIE Automation lab exam, because I already have the experience working with network automation in production.
My goal is to help you prepare for the exam while also building practical skills you can use after the certification.
I love teaching and it has always been a passion of mine. During my bachelor degree, I worked part-time at a high school. As part of my bachelor’s thesis, we developed an e-learning platform. I have always enjoyed running workshops and teaching others at work. So it made perfect sense for me to create this e-learning platform.
Starting DevNet Academy was the best decision I could have made. I enjoy meeting people from all over the world. And if you have found this website, we probably have a lot of common interests and we are all willing to go the extra mile!
