Whilst we are clearly better off automating some content, this is obviously a grotesque victory of quantity over quality. Slop has no scarcity, therefore no value. Write words that give me a glimpse of what you are thinking. That is not just valuable to me, it is precious. I will continue to write my stuff by hand, like a boss.

Theo Paraskevopoulos hat dies geteiltSora is dead. Copilot gets in bed with Claude. NVIDIA muscles in on LLMs. Can we spot a trend? OpenAI has 75% of the consumer market, but it seems stuck. In the meantime, Anthropic's revenue explodes, Microsoft is hedging its bets, and Nvidia is using its cash piles to go full-stack, emulating Google. OpenAI is becoming the new WordPress. Small-time AI for consumers and micro-businesses. Largely irrelevant in a business transformation context. But the game is on for the Enterprise market. Microsoft + Claude seem like a formidable pair, but Google's offering is more settled, and Nvidia has the most skin in the game. Ambitious SMEs and AI App developers should avoid vendor lock-in and choose flexible options.

It is in the meeting that you presented it, the conversation about what to do next. Using AI to create documents faster, only to spend that time creating more documents, leads to high-intensity, low-productivity work. After AI writes your document, resist the temptation to cram another one in. Go out and discuss it with someone. Real work happens over coffee. Theo Paraskevopoulos hat dies geteilt💡 Fun fact Friday: Whilst most of us find AI useful, 20% of us think it's rubbish. Anthropic surveyed 81,000 people around the world for attitudes to AI. Good research, nicely presented. Highlight: the quotes of those who think it doesn't deliver: "I told [an AI] it was being too agreeable. It agreed with me." Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gugA7yMS Many of these quotes are about its personality, not about reliability and job displacement, which are cited elsewhere as the top concerns. Overall, not too many surprises and some good learnings. The question remains: what will Anthropic do about it?

In Greece, a great deal of business gets done over a Freddo Espresso, a frothy concoction of espresso and ice. This isn’t just a cultural quirk. In a world where AI is automating outputs, the conversation over coffee is not a break from the work: it is the work. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸. A small professional services firm I spoke to recently had one member of staff spending half their week producing reports — pulling data from multiple places, reformatting it, writing it up. Every week, the same process. They tested an AI tool for 30 days. That task now takes under an hour. The person doing it hasn't been made redundant, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻. That's the pattern I see again and again. Not headcount reduction, but capacity creation. Small teams suddenly able to do things they previously couldn't justify the time for. The businesses moving fastest right now aren't the ones with the biggest budgets. They're the ones willing to spend a month testing something properly.
