When did you last update your definition of what a leader actually does? Nico Michels, Head of Digital Enterprise at Siemens Industry Software, puts it plainly: within two to three years, managers won't just be leading people – they'll be leading AI agents and bots alongside them. According to valantic's Digital Excellence Outlook 2026, 82% of decision-makers expect most business decisions to be heavily AI-supported by 2030. The executive role is shifting from making decisions to reviewing and governing the systems that make them. At the same time, 80% of respondents believe creativity, empathy, and ethical judgment will become the defining human competencies as AI absorbs analytical and operational work. As Nico puts it: "It is essential for corporate leadership, employees, and society at large to recognize that the use of AI is not something to be feared. As a result, trust in AI continues to grow until AI-driven decisions are widely accepted." Building that trust is an active responsibility, not a byproduct of deployment. 💡 Four things your organization can start on now: 1️⃣ Redefine leadership profiles to reflect AI oversight and cross-network collaboration 2️⃣ Create clear frameworks for human-AI teamwork: approved tools, defined boundaries, and safe spaces to practice 3️⃣ Embed AI literacy into hiring criteria, not just L&D programs 4️⃣ Work with HR to actively protect the skills most at risk: critical thinking, problem-solving, empathy, ethical judgment The companies that come out ahead won't be those deploying the most AI. They'll be the ones building the organizational capacity to work alongside it intelligently. How is your organization preparing its leaders for this shift? Find more actionable insights on AI leadership and organizational readiness in the full AI at Scale study: https://hubs.ly/Q04hjk3d0 And by the way: The video of Nico was animated with AI ✨

Last Tuesday, we joined the Data & AI Workbench Munich 2026 as a partner of LSZ Future Connections. A day built not around slides and buzzwords, but around honest conversations between people actually doing this work 🤝   On the panel “Driving the Uncertainty Age – Where Does AI Stand in 2026?”, our collegue Dr. Maximilian Hausmann joined Bernd Preuschoff, Prof. Dr. Katja Nettesheim, Selina Weigele, Anna Spitznagel and Florian Kurzmaier for exactly that kind of conversation.   Is AI still an experiment, a tool, or already a system in your own daily work? The panel got personal: positive surprises, real developments, but also the friction that remains. How do you handle confidential data? Where do organizations still hesitate, and why?   Larissa Tholund and Dr. Maximilian Hausmann then took the stage with a statement many leadership teams will recognize: “We communicated the rollout, so we’ve done change management.” Their session unpacked why that’s almost never enough. What actually happens in people’s heads when AI enters an organization? Status quo bias, identity threat and why pressure from above so often produces the opposite of what leaders hope for.   ✨ We came away with a lot of great conversations, new connections and a clear sense that change management around AI is touching a nerve right now.

Yesterday ChatGPT, today Claude, tomorrow who knows? The models keep changing, the organizational challenge doesn't. No matter which LLM is in focus right now, companies face the same underlying question: how do you embed AI responsibly, securely and efficiently, in a way that scales with the technology, not against it? AI Governance is the answer. Not as a compliance exercise, but as a strategic framework. It defines roles, processes and accountability around AI, so organizations can adopt new capabilities quickly, without starting from scratch every time. A few principles that hold true regardless of where you are in your AI journey: 💡 Governance works best when it grows from within. Integrating requirements into existing structures outperforms building parallel ones. New bureaucracy slows adoption, but adapted processes enable it. 💡 Regulation is no longer optional. The EU AI Act demands systematic risk management, addressing bias, security gaps and non-transparent decision-making. Organizations that treat this as a checkbox exercise will fall behind those that use it as a foundation. 💡 Adoption depends on trust. Explainable models, documented decisions and continuously upskilled teams determine whether AI actually gets used or stays stuck in the pilot phase. The path forward follows a clear sequence: current state analysis, design, implementation, and continuous operation. Scalable, pragmatic, built to evolve. On May 28 in Frankfurt, Julia Kristlbauer Kristlbauer (valantic) and Anna Spitznagel Spitznagel (Founder of trail ) will discuss exactly this, with concrete perspectives from consulting, software and enterprise practice 👉🏻 https://hubs.ly/Q04fgNxX0

From crisis mode to planning excellence: How can industrial companies escape crisis mode?   Volatile demand, disrupted supply chains, rising costs: for many industrial companies, crisis mode has long since become the new normal. Our current meta-study shows that traditional monthly planning and Excel-based models with forecast errors of 20 – 40% can no longer cope with this level of volatility.   Where companies rely on end-to-end, data-driven planning, however, we see clear benefits: improved delivery reliability, lower inventories and measurable efficiency gains. Planning becomes a strategic EBIT lever, not just an operational necessity.   Specifically, the meta-study shows, among other things: 🔸 15 – 30% of planning time is spent on manual data entry and transfer instead of value-added activities 🔸 75% of companies already report production stoppages because plans fail to translate into operational reality 🔸 Companies that adopt integrated, AI-supported planning early on realize efficiency gains of 20 – 30%, while late adopters lag significantly behind by 2030   A crucial step is moving away from reactive firefighting towards scenario planning, constraint-based control (materials, capacities, logistics) and clear decision rules at C-level.   Many thanks to Jan-Frederik Ahrens and Henrik Drüner from Statista and Statista+, and Darya Basarhina from valantic waySuite for their thorough research and support in preparing the meta-study!   The full meta-study "How can industrial companies escape crisis mode?" is available for download 👉🏻 https://lnkd.in/equBAHTP

500 leaders, practitioners and innovators. One question running through all of it: what does it actually take to turn AI ambition into business impact?   Last week, our valantic colleagues in Copenhagen brought that question to AI & Data Day 2026. A few of the perspectives that shaped the day:   🔹 Peter Hinssen reframed uncertainty as the ultimate driver of reinvention, and challenged leaders to build organizations bold enough to act on it.   🔹 On building responsible, human-centered AI at scale, Gabriel S. (LEGO) put governance, clear principles and genuine AI literacy first, before anything else.   🔹 Moving from AI use cases to customer-centric product development means shifting from inside-out to outside-in thinking. Lars Kierkegaard (A.P. Moller Maersk) showed why that shift turns technology into measurable business impact.   🔹 The real challenge isn't keeping up with every new tool. As Martin Nyhuus (DP World) argued, it's knowing what not to change, while building adaptability where continuous change is expected.   🔹 How do you create real space for AI innovation when the margin for error is razor-thin? Olivia Linder Tabel (Bech-Bruun) tackled the question every regulated industry is working through.   🔹 Conversational and agentic AI are reshaping the entire digital ecosystem. Jarno M. Koponen (Zalando) explained why customer-first beats AI-first, every time.   Thank you to the teams at Inspari A/S and VENZO for making it happen 👏
