Motorsports #depowdering use case from Italy 🇮🇹 Residue-free parts are a must in high-performance sectors like motorsports. Enjoy this video of the depowdering of an additive manufacturing heat exchanger for electric single-seater cars inside the SFM-AT350 at CIM Competenze per Industria e Manifattura.
Buona visione⚡ ENG: 🏎️ Every detail makes the difference between a good idea and a car that can hold its own on the track. In this video, we see the depowdering process of a heat exchanger made using #additive manufacturing for the electric single-seater car of Squadra Corse - Politecnico di Torino, a student team from PoliTo that participates in Formula SAE Italy and other European competitions. A project that requires extreme #performance. The production of this component requires a precise choice: monolithic printing, to avoid subsequent welding and therefore possible weak points. A single piece, more reliable from a structural point of view. At the same time, one of the challenges is to ensure impeccable cleanliness. In a cooling circuit, even the smallest particle of residual dust can compromise the system and cause irreversible damage. This is where Solukon Maschinenbau GmbH's depowdering technology with the [SFM-AT350] in the CIM pilot line comes into play. The reliable and residual-free removal of #powder, even from the most complex internal geometries, becomes a decisive stage in the process. And with SPR-Pathfinder, we have a component-specific recipe for cleaning the part, which is automatically calculated based on the CAD file of the part. Enjoy the video⚡

Successful commissioning of their brand-new Solukon #depowdering system SFM-AT1500-S at Nikon in Gyoda, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. After acquiring an SFM-AT1000-S in 2025, Team Nikon once again put their trust in Solukon’s depowdering technology for the postprocessing of extra-large metal parts weighing up to 2,100 kg. The SFM-AT1500S ensures maximum capacity with minimum footprint making it the perfect-fit postprocessing system for the NXG 600E. Thanks to Team Nikon for your continuous commitment to our technology! #3dprinting #postprocessing

Additive manufacturing in #space requires precision at every step. With the SFM-AT1500-S, we provide automated, safe and efficient depowdering for extra-large parts supporting AMCM GmbH’s success in this project and beyond. #depowdering #3dprinting
🚀 Project goal achieved: demonstration job meets the needs of ArianeGroup. It‘s proven: AMCM M 8K AirSword™ unlocks ultra-large LPBF success 🚀 AirSword™ isn’t just a gas flow system. It’s a key enabler for the next generation of industrial LPBF. Scaling Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) to build volumes of 1m x 1m and beyond has always been a challenge - especially when it comes to maintaining consistent gas flow and part quality. But now, theory meets reality. AMCM’s AirSword™ gas flow technology has delivered. As Jan Alting, Head of Future & Storable Propulsion at ArianeGroup puts it: "Even on long jobs, the system performed reliably. We achieved consistent component quality across the entire envelope – and the flow was very good. The project phase, which included several validation jobs, ended with the successful build of a representative demonstrator for a full-size combustion chamber – without any interruptions or issues. That was a major success. What impressed us most: the M 8K system doubling the xy dimension and number of lasers compared to M 4K - all while maintaining top performance and confirming the value of the upfront engineering efforts invested in the scaling process.“ The printed hardware is shown at the end of the video while undergoing dimensional checks at ArianeGroup. #3DPrinting #AdditiveManufacturing #Aerospace #RocketComponents #AirSword

Content tip 💡 In their yearly recap session Marina Haugg and Kety Sindze brought up the following question: "Do AM users really understand the rationale behind new equipment releases?" This question has led to the article in 3D ADEPT (3DA) Mag featured here. With a key perspective on innovation circles in industrial #depowdering by our CEO/CTO Andreas Hartmann. Learn here why anticipating the #AM ecosystem, not just the powder removal machine is our approach. Enjoy the read! Solukon Maschinenbau GmbH hat dies direkt geteilt
#Depowdering of 3D printed metal parts: AMEXCI expands #postprocessing capacity with two further Solukon Maschinenbau GmbH systems. When asked about the significance of Solukon in their AM processes, and why team AMEXCI chose to purchase two further Solukon depowdering systems, Andreas Petersen, Head of Production at AMEXCI, comments: “The Solukon system has been an essential piece of our AM workflow from the beginning. We chose the Solukon as for us, it was important to work with powder free parts as early as possible in the process. It is an important equipment for us to get parts free of powder for a safer handling of parts for both our operators and our customers. It is simple to use, yet efficient. The cooperation with Solukon has been going well for 7 years now, with a team ready to help.” #collaboration #additivemanufacturing #pleasecleanmypartsautomatically https://lnkd.in/dvCgPkcP

Starting the year with an amazing article by Laura Griffiths why #postprocessing in additive manufacturing is no longer a dirty little secret. With contribution by our CEO/CTO Andreas Hartmann. Enjoy the read and wishing you a Happy New Year with lots of inspiring and insightful #3dprinting content!
Can we stop calling post-processing additive manufacturing’s 'dirty little secret'? As AM-focused post-processing companies mark 10 year anniversaries, Laura Griffiths asks, isn’t the secret well and truly out? "Back then, discussions often centred around whether post-processing was necessary at all - and whether customers would be willing to pay for it. Today, the picture has completely changed."
