How Do Franka Robots Turn Interaction into Intelligence? At IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) 2026, Booth 37, Franka Robotics will showcase two FR3 Duo demonstrations highlighting different approaches to robot learning and autonomous manipulation. Powered by LABS and Franka GELLO Duo, one setup demonstrates teleoperation and structured data collection within the Franka Research 3 ecosystem. Through a leader–follower workflow, operator inputs are translated into robot motion while synchronized datasets are recorded to support robot learning workflows. Precise movements, timing, and interaction patterns are captured to enable scalable learning from real human guidance, combining intuitive control with high-quality data generation. Alongside it, a second FR3 Duo setup showcases on-device inference using Google DeepMind Gemini Robotics, translating natural language instructions into executable robot actions in real time. Together, the demonstrations illustrate the progression from human-guided interaction to autonomous robot execution. Experience both demonstrations live at our booth! 📍VIECON, Congress & Exhibition Center Vienna, Austria 🗓️ June 1-5 👉🏼 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/dv7XX-Fz #FR3Duo #Robotics #PhysicalAI #HumanRobotInteraction #RobotLearning

🧠 ECHO: A smarter memory for robot learning How can robots handle long, complex tasks without “forgetting” what matters along the way? A new research paper introduces ECHO, a memory system for Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models. Instead of storing experiences as a flat list, ECHO organizes them in a structured, hierarchical way - similar to how humans group and recall memories. This helps robots better reuse past experiences and solve new tasks that require combining multiple steps. In experiments, this approach improved performance on long-horizon robot tasks by 12.8% when integrated into a foundation model. To test these ideas in the real world, the Franka Research 3 robot was used as the reference platform. Its precise torque control, accurate joint sensing, and high repeatability make it ideal for learning-based manipulation. These properties ensure stable, reliable execution over long task sequences, where even small errors can accumulate and impact learning. 👏 Kudos to all involved researchers for this great work Yanbin Hu, Jin Cui, Jiayi Lu, Ruixuan Yang, Jun Ye, Boran Zhao, Xingyu Chen, Xuguang Lan, Pengju Ren. 📄 https://lnkd.in/dNBuDVqf 👉 Find out more about our reference platform for robotics & AI: https://lnkd.in/g_ck-3rg #Robotics #AI #MachineLearning #VisionLanguageAction #FoundationModels
[Paper Title]: ECHO: Continuous Hierarchical Memory for Vision-Language-Action Models Arxiv: https://lnkd.in/etUDZP5B Project: [Link not provided] 🔁 At a Glance 💡 Goal: Develop a hierarchical memory system for vision-language-action models to improve long-horizon manipulation tasks. ⚙️ Approach: Hyperbolic autoencoder: Maps VLA states into a continuous hyperbolic space. Hierarchical organization: Uses hyperbolic metrics and entailment cones for experience structuring. Memory consolidation: Continuously refines memories through geometric interpolation and splitting. Experience retrieval: Top-down, entailment-aware in a hyperbolic hierarchical space. 📈 Impact (Key Results) 🧪 Improved success rates on LIBERO benchmarks, especially a 12.8% gain on LIBERO-Long. Better generalization for unseen long-horizon tasks. 🔄 Ability to synthesize unseen experiences through interpolation. Increased efficiency in experience retrieval due to hyperbolic geometry. 🤖 Maintains policy stability via residual injection of memory priors. 🔬 Experiments 🧪 Benchmarks: LIBERO, LIBERO-Plus, and real-world with Franka Panda. 🎯 Tasks: Long-horizon manipulation, cross-suite generalization. 🦾 Setup: Deployment on a simulated and real robot. 📐 Inputs: Visual, language, actions → action outputs. 🛠 How to Implement 1️⃣ Integrate Hyperbolic Autoencoder for state encoding. 2️⃣ Organize experiences into the continuous hyperbolic hierarchy. 3️⃣ Use entailment cones for hierarchical retrieval. 4️⃣ Continuously consolidate memory during idle periods. 5️⃣ Fuse retrieved memory with short-term context for action generation. 📦 Deployment Benefits ✅ Structured experience reuse enhances long-horizon performance. ✅ Hyperbolic geometry supports flexible, partial containment relations. ✅ Efficient top-down retrieval reduces latency. ✅ Continual online memory consolidation improves adaptation. 📣 Takeaway ECHO introduces a novel hyperbolic hierarchical memory that mimics human experience organization. Enables robots to generalize better, plan over long horizons, and reuse past knowledge. This approach offers a significant step toward more embodied, adaptable AI systems.
