Recycling batteries at industrial scale requires trust. Not just technology. Today, WWF Germany names cylib GmbH as a good practice example in their report on Social License to Operate. What they recognize: building inside CHEMPARK Dormagen means decades of established safety infrastructure, environmental oversight, and community dialogue are already in place. Trust is not a checkbox. Independent recognition keeps us honest and moves the industry forward. 🔗 Links in the comments.

BatteryMBA welcomed Dr. Lilian Schwich, Co-founder & Co-CEO and Dr. Julian Englberger, Vice President Operations at cylib GmbH, for a lecture on Urban Mining at Scale: Redefining Battery Circularity. In this lecture, Dr. Lilian Schwich and Dr. Julian Englberger explore how urban mining can unlock valuable materials from end-of-life batteries to support a circular battery economy. They highlight the technical, economic, and regulatory challenges of scaling recycling processes, while emphasizing the importance of effective recycling technology and efficient collection, sorting, and recovery systems. The session also underscores urban mining’s role in reducing raw material dependency and strengthening supply chain resilience in the battery industry. Thank you to Dr. Lilian Schwich and Dr. Julian Englberger for sharing valuable insights into scaling urban mining and its critical role in building a sustainable battery ecosystem. Join Battery Associates’ BatteryMBA programme to hone strategic insight into the battery industry. Registrations are open for our upcoming cohort: 🗓️ 4 May – 25 July 2026 🔗 battery.mba/enroll #BatteryIndustry #EnergyStorage #BatteryMBA

🎙️ cylib GmbH is building Europe's first industrial battery recycling facility to process both major EV battery chemistries — and that's exactly what's taking shape in Dormagen. Dr. Julian Englberger, our VP Operations, is leading the team making it happen. He sat down with Edward Pound on The Operations Science Podcast to share what that looks like on the ground: → Speed as a discipline: making sharp decisions without losing pace → Pilot to industrial: what surprises you when you scale battery recycling for real → The daily tension: rolling out operational & quality standards while keeping the team locked in on delivering a first-of-its-kind plant (FOAK), in scope, on time, within budget If you're scaling an industrial facility, building in the battery value chain, or investing in European industrial resilience — link in the comments. 🎧 Spotify | Apple Podcasts | YouTube

LFP batteries are rapidly gaining ground in Europe. But dedicated recycling infrastructure? It barely exists. At ALTA Metallurgical Services Conference 2026 (5-7 May), one of the world's leading mining and metallurgical processing events, Dr. Tobias Elwert will take the stage. As CTO at cylib GmbH and one of Europe's leading experts in hydrometallurgy and battery recycling, he will address one of the most urgent questions in the industry: LFP recycling in Europe vs. China, where the gaps are, what it costs, and what needs to happen now. Battery recycling is no longer a niche topic. It sits at the heart of the global materials supply chain. NMC and LFP are the two dominant chemistries today — and cylib recycles both. Going to Perth? Let's connect. 👇

Exciting to see the story told from the outside. 👀 The EIC Scaling Club featured cylib GmbH, one of 120 European deep tech scale-ups in their community, on what it takes to build a circular battery economy in Europe. If you're in the battery value chain, this one's for you. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eVdFJzQV

Battery expertise at industrial scale. Europe needs it. Aachen is pushing it. The RWTH Tech Impact Festival in Aachen brings together a serious concentration of expertise of expertise across the full battery lifecycle, from cell production to second life to recycling. Few places in Europe come close. On March 25, our Head of ESG Maurice Bethke joins the "Recycling & Second Life" pitch session alongside Dr. Daniel Dotto Munchen and Alexander Cypzirsch of RWTH Aachen University, Roman Alberti of Voltfang, and Dr. Philipp Wunderlich of Accenture, moderated by Prof. Dirk Uwe Sauer. Later that day he presents on scaling sustainable battery innovation across Germany and Europe, following Dr. Elisabeth Schrey of DeepTech & Climate Fonds (DTCF). Our first industrial facility is under construction in Dormagen. This is what execution looks like. Come find us. 📍 C.A.R.L., RWTH Aachen University | March 25
