Although the first two weeks of the month were exciting mainly for political reasons, at least start-ups and investors returned to business this week (https://lnkd.in/duwsE2Hv). Over just four days, we have reported on seven financing rounds, with the largest investment going to novoMOF AG. The Paul Scherrer Institute spin-off develops Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), a new class of highly porous materials with an exceptionally high internal surface area per gram, suitable for gas capture and separation. The company will use the new funding to make MOF-based CO₂ capture both scalable and economically viable. https://lnkd.in/e74RPFUH Rekord AG’s financing round took place at the beginning of the year and this week we reported on its two recent strategic deals, one with another Swiss start-up: A.DNA. The two companies’ blockchain-based solution ensures that SMEs are able to store their data in a well-organised, verifiable and secure manner. https://lnkd.in/eWcVe4ak The five further financing rounds: AICA SA received CHF 2.35 million https://lnkd.in/eXqCnqtq catchfree generated CHF 1.2 million https://lnkd.in/eQAw58-b CGC Genomics attracted CHF 1.6 million https://lnkd.in/eBxeeras Maven Health closed a seed round https://lnkd.in/eC5eh7Aq Sonixapp secured CHF 1.8 million https://lnkd.in/eMMaUnW9 We would also like to highlight our article on the SwissHacks Hackathon Tenity Swiss Financial Innovation Desk, where we, together with Innosuisse, set a challenge for 10 teams to work on over 48 hours. The results were promising. https://lnkd.in/ecJZ-gbr
