In our new whitepaper Michael and Julian from Climeworks’ Science and Technology Team explain what high-quality biochar really is and why it plays a key role in building credible carbon removal portfolios. From feedstock and production conditions to carbon durability and verification, the paper looks at the factors that shape whether biochar can deliver defensible climate benefit. Because in carbon removal, not all quality signals are equal and not all biochar is the same. Swipe through to explore the key ideas and get in touch if you would like to discuss high-quality carbon removal portfolios. Is carbon removal becoming fashionable? It is not every day that carbon removal shows up in Vogue. We are proud to see our collaboration with Tapestry featured in one of the fashion industry’s most iconic publications. But what really stands out in Bella Webb’s piece is the business lens: sustainability framed as long-term value creation, resilience, and risk management. Congratulations to Tapestry for showing that a bold, credible, science‑led approach to sustainability is not just good for the planet. It is good for business too. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/evwW7PBe

Proud to launch the CDR Pathfinder at the 2026 SMI Roundtables & Exhibition!    Last week at Hampton Court Palace, our Co‑Founder and Co‑CEO Christoph Gebald unveiled the Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) Pathfinder, a new coalition co‑developed with the Sustainable Markets Initiative to accelerate the scale‑up of high‑quality, durable carbon removal this decade.     The SMI Summit united industry leaders for two days of action‑focused roundtables, keynotes and plenary discussions to showcase measurable results and agree collective action worldwide through 2030.     The science is clear: removals must scale 1,000x by 2050 and the private sector is a key lever. The Pathfinder aims to bring CEOs together to generate real demand for carbon removal, catalyze capital flows, speed deployment of high-quality projects and technologies, and ultimately deliver measurable, durable CO₂ removal at scale this decade.      Alongside the launch, we showcased Climeworks’ carbon removal portfolio at the exhibition, where we had the honor of welcoming King Charles III to our stand and engaging him in our vision for durable, high‑integrity carbon removal.     Excited to continue engaging world leaders in our climate mission in 2026.     #TheSMI #CDRPathfinder #Climeworks #CarbonRemoval #NetZero #ClimateLeadership
