In the first few weeks of the 2026 season, the DECATHLON CMA CGM Team has already faced every extreme imaginable. They kicked off the year navigating a grueling 43°C heatwave and extreme fire danger at the Santos Tour Down Under in Australia. Then, they pushed through snow and intense storms during their high-altitude training camp in the Sierra Nevada. Most recently, they battled freezing temperatures and pouring rain at L'Étoile de Bessèges. Through it all, the riders had to do one thing: adapt, no matter what. The parallels to the business world are striking. Today’s professional landscape is just as unpredictable as the weather out on the road. Whether it’s sudden market shifts, technological disruptions, or unforeseen global challenges, organizations must remain agile and pivot quickly to survive and thrive. Talent has no age. At just 19 years old, Paul Seixas has not only secured his first pro victory at the Tour de l'Algarve (Volta ao Algarve em Bicicleta), but he also finished a phenomenal 2nd overall in the General Classification and took home the Best Young Rider jersey! It was an absolute masterclass in both strength and strategy. Paul’s ambition was clear from the start. Last week, he set a bold intention for the race: "The main goal of the week will be to raise my arms in victory. Several stages could suit me, whether it's the time trial or stages 2 and 5, which are still quite tough." Setting clear goals is the first step to achieving them, and he delivered perfectly on a grueling Stage 2, carrying that momentum all the way to the final podium. What truly stands out, however, is his incredible maturity. Paul proved he is as physically strong as he is a brilliant strategist, managing his effort flawlessly against some of the biggest names in the sport. His Sports Director, Julien Jurdie, summed up the awe perfectly: "He understands everything about cycling... He has a perfect knowledge of his sensations, of his body, that's what amazes me. When I see the images of the kid leading a good part of the climb ahead of riders named Ayuso and Almeida, I just don't know what to say. I have no words. I've never seen this at 19 years old." Yet, as we always say: like the world of work, cycling is a team sport. No one wins alone. Paul’s historic week is a triumph of collective effort. It was the result of the entire DECATHLON CMA CGM TEAM executing a flawless strategy to place and protect him all day long, culminating in Matthew Riccitello’s crucial effort to push the pace in the demanding Stage 2 finale and set up the win.
