How do you go about programming parts that are manufactured in multiple stages? I personally like asking for Mesh files if they are available. Most toolpath programmers generate mesh files to simulate the machining process anyway. Simply import the mesh into your routine. Navigate to EDIT/GRAPHIC DISPLAY WINDOW/CAD ASSEMBLY Bottom left you have a list of CAD objects. Right click the mesh file and click transform. You can then move it around independently of the other CAD model. I also like to turn on Transparency once they are overlayed. I can see what features are machined at this stage and what features aren't. This let's me program on the final CAD model and still see the features that aren't complete yet. You might want to turn off surface edges too, because it makes using stl files a nightmare.
