The pilot involved in a fatal maintenance ground run abbreviated the operator’s checklist, missing crucial steps that led the aircraft to perform a “rapid rotation” striking two maintenance engineers, according to an accident investigation from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada. 🔗: https://ow.ly/iS3p50Z5GSA #AviationSafety #MaintenanceSafety #AviationInvestigation #TransportationSafetyBoard #AircraftMaintenance

No Maintenance, No Mission! 100 Vertical MRO Podcast episodes in the books! It has been such an honor to be a part of the Vertical Plus MRO Podcast. So many conversations have been had focusing on the hardworking folks who truly make the missions happen: the maintainers, technicians, and engineers. Thank you to all our guests, listeners and supporters for making it all possible. For our 100th episode, we went big. We sat down with Werner Horvath and Anthony Hill from the The Flying Bulls maintenance team at Hangar-7 in Salzburg to talk about what it takes to keep their legendary fleet airworthy. This two part series you don’t want to miss, and it’s one best consumed on YouTube! A huge thank you to our producer and editor, David Kreutzkamp, for his hard work in getting us to this milestone. We couldn't do it without him. Looking forward to the next 100+ conversations that will help promote the personnel who truly propel our industry forward. #NoMaintenanceNoMission #VerticalMRO #AviationMaintenance #Helicopters #FlyingBulls #Podcast #Hangar7 #Aviation #AviationPersonnel https://lnkd.in/gyQ_Kx42

Earlier this month, the Spokane County Regional Air Support Unit launched on a demanding mission that carried crews more than 210 miles (338 km) one way into a neighboring state to rescue five victims stranded after a rafting accident in a remote mountain environment. With no other aviation assets available and very limited ground rescue options, the crew faced a complex high-altitude operation that required multiple fuel stops, flying at 6,163 feet (1,878 m) elevation at the rescue site, and navigation through steep terrain surrounded by snow-covered peaks.
